There's still a chance to see the two most acclaimed hits in the Blyth Festival's season that has been jam packed with winners. Sometime, Never and McGillicuddy are on the Blyth stage until Sept. 9 and Sept. 15 respective- ly. Noel Gallagher of The London Free Press called Keith Roulston's McGillicuddy "a sweet triumph", and called Sometime, Never a "heart- felt play done with loving care." Sometime, Never features an incredible cast and stars former Festival Artistic Director Janet Amos. Bonnie Gropp from The Citizen called Amos's performance "incomparable." Critics have appreciated McGillicuddy for being an insightful comedy. McGillicuddy tackles some very important issues in a comedic format. Harry Currie of The Kitchener-Waterloo Record explains "there is such human content to this Culture Shock, an award-winning comedy about rural Newfoundlander Hillyard Philpott's misadventures in the big city of Montreal takes the stage at Theatre on the Grand until Sept. 22. Written' by Canadian humorist Lorne Elliott well-known for his work on CBC's Madly Off In All Directions, this production features an 'all Newfoundlander' cast of Ken Delaney, Glen Downey and Stephen Guy-McGrath who has just complet- ed a successful run_ of the popular Spinning )"urns at Theatre on the Grand. Bored with his life in a Newfoundland outport, Hillyard Philpott decides to seek his fame and fortune in Montreal, armed only with his wits! His wits being what they are, he's in deep, deep trouble. Originally presented in 1981 in arts and cultural centres across Newfoundland, Culture Shock has subsequently been produced at sev- eral venues in eastern Canada including two different productions at the Charlottetown Festival. Thd 1989 Centaur Theatre production, presented as part of Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival, was filmed and aired nationally on CBC Television and the 1995 Chester Playhouse Theatre Festival production was broadcast on CBC Radio's Drama Series. Tickets are $18 for all Wednesday evening performances and $21 for the Thursday and Saturday matinees. Tickets for all Thursday through Saturday evening performances are $25.
