Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Steer sales reach $127 while bull sales hit $103 Total receipts for the Brussels Livestock for the week ending July 20 were 1,890 head of cattle, 653 lambs and goats. On Tuesday fed steers and heifers sold at prices $1 to $2 higher. The cows sold on a steady market. Thursday's veal sold on a good strong active trade. The lambs sold steady to last week. On Friday, all, classes and weights of stockers sold on a steady market. There were 495 steers on offer selling from $115 to $119 with sales to $127. Lauderlea Farms, Listowel, consigned three limousin steers averaging 1,430 lbs. selling to Holly Park Meat Packers for $127. Their overall consignment of eleven limousin steers averaged 1,406 lbs.. and sold for an average of $125.61. One gold steer consigned by Jason B. Martin, Chesley, weighed 1,280 lbs. selling to Highland Packers Ltd. for $125. His overall consignment of ten steers averaged 1,378 lbs. selling for an average of $120.44. His total consignment of three heifers averaged 1,105 lbs. bringing an average price of $120.75. Six limousin heifer consigned by Merkley Farms, Wroxeter, averaged 1,103 lbs. and sold for an average of $119.50 with sales up to $121.50. Four heifers consigned by Bruce Dale, Centralia, averaged 1,313 lbs. and sold for an average of $118.02 with his top limousin heifer weighing 1,180 lbs. selling to Highland Packers Ltd. for $121.50.
