Chesley pair wins men's tourney
The Brussels Tigers collected one
win and one loss in Hurdn County
Fastball League action this week.
On Friday the game was decided
early as two first inning errors paved
the way to six runs as the Goderich
Orioles blanked the homeside 7-0.

Doug Conley took the loss giving up
only two earned runs while fanning
six Orioles.
On Sunday in Zurich the Tigers
used a five-run first inning of their
own enroute to a 13-4 victory over
the Rangers. Shawn Thompson high-
lighted the first inning offence with a
long homer t oleft centre.
Shawn Conley went the distance
for the win scattering four hits while
fanning nine Rangers.
The Tigers' next home game is
Friday night as they battle the Lieury
Jets in a 7:30 p.m. start.
A men's pairs lawn bowling tour-
nament was held at the Brussels
Green Thursday, July 12, sponsored
by Brussels Livesteock. Fourteen
teams . competed from Chesley,
London, Stratford, Lucknow,
Seaforth, Clinton, Atwood,
Orangeville, and Brussels. Men's
tournaments consist of three, 14-end
games. Most other tournaments are
only 12-end games.
Brussels Livestock representative,
Marie McCutcheon presented the
prizes as follows: first, Wayne
Wright and Chuck Townsend,
Chesley, three wins, 59; second,
Alan Gledhill and Gordon Land,
Stratford, three wins, 50; third, a
Brussels make-up team of Bill
Bremner, Gord Bosman and Gerald
Gibson, two wins, 45; fourth, Jack
MacDonald and Ken Chaput,
Lucknow, two wins, 44; fifth, Brian

Entry fees for the Ottawa competi-
tion were $40. The Gowings won
$400 of the $500 prize money. The
