Brussels Public School
`Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'
By Candice McLellan
The Journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step.
Teachers, parents, honoured
guests and fellow graduates, wel-
come!
From 1993 to 2001, the first day
of school standing hand in hand with
your mother with a tight grip, not
knowing what the future may hold.
Now the last day, standing with con-
fidence, staring into the future with
eyes full of intensity, integrity, and
excitement.
We, the graduating class of 2001,
have come so far, together as well as
individually. We have overcome
many obstacles, resolved many con-
flicts, concluded many objectives,
and along the journey have gathered
certain qualities that make us more
complete and happy with ourselves.
The memories shared at Brussels
Public School will be valued within.
As the years go on, and the grades
are validated, the memories we
share numerate. Brussels has been a
comfortable place for us to master
all the aspects of our elementary
responsibilities. Brussels has shared
with us the world and opened many
doors for each of us in which to peer
out upon. It has contributed to each
of us, life lasting friendships, ele-
mentary education, opportunities, in
addition to values money can't buy,
values that are an asset to each of us
as individuals.
Education is a ladder you are con-
sistently climbing to success. We
have journeyed
the many roads of
elementary educa-
tion, from ABC
... 123 to com-
pleting perplexing
challenges, such
as essays, book
reviews, and biog-
raphies. I have
learned that if you
put your mind to it
you can achieve anything! The hard-
er you work the greater the reward.
You must measure your success
by what you had to give up in order
to achieve it. What gives you an
edge in situations where you'll be
challenged or have to compete is
your ability to friendly accommo-
date your instincts with your logic.
Those small daily happenings are
what make life so spectacular.
Everyone wants to live to the top of
the mountain but all the happiness
and growth occurs while you are
climbing it.
Education, the wings which allow
us to By. The importance of educa-
tion, no words could describe. No
one has the authority to make you
want to learn, it is your future and
you ;make the path to your own suc-
cess. The enhanced knowledge you
learn and understand now, the easier
it will be to learn and understand
later.
Education will lend you a helping
