demo of transfer lift
A special meeting of the Auxiliary
to Wingham and District Hospital
v, as held May 28 in the Terrace
Room of the hospital with a good
attendance. President Brenda Anger
welcomed the members followed by
the auxiliary prayer said in unison.
The highlight of the meeting was
when Linda McKee. a hospital
employee. demonstrated the transfer
lift which the auxiliary had recently
purchased for the hospital.
This mobile lift is on wheels for
easy moving and is a wonderful
piece of equipment. for helping to
move and lift disabled patients.
Member Helen McKague acted as
the model for the demonstration.
The total cost of the lift.
$9,435.50, was completely paid for
by the auxiliary.
President Brenda reminded auxil-
iary members that the annual meet-
ing would be held the evening of
June 21 at Wingham Public School.
Any members wishing to vote must
purchase a membership to the hospi-
tal by June 6 from the front desk at
the hospital.
A committee of Marilyn Wood,
Margaret Mann. Hilda Brown. Joyce
Pollock, Marion Mackenzie. Mary
Lou Cameron, and Marlene
Leedham was set up to work on
preparations for the District Fall
Conference being held Sept. 24 in
Wingham.
It was decided not to hold a Fall
Tea this year but to hold a Poinsettia
Tea in the Terrace Room of the hos-
pital Nov. 21.
The date of the September meet-
ing has been changed to September
10. •
The June meeting is June 25 at
1:30. in the Terrace Room.
MARY VERONICA NOLAN
Mary Veronica Nolan passed away
at Seaforth Manor Nursing Home,
Thursday. May 31. 2(X) I . She was in
her 97th year.
She was the beloved wife of the
late James J. Nolan (1988), dear
mother of Don and Pat Nolan of
Walton. Barry and Lorraine Nolan of
Dorchester, Rebecca and Davidi
Young and Marie Nolan and Nick
Hussar, all of London.
Mrs. Nolan will be fondly remem-
bered by 10 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. She is also sur-
vived by her sister. Stasia Brohman
of Fergus.
She was predeceased by her par-
ents, Daniel and'Anastasia (McCue)
Quirk: brother. Peter Quirk and sis-
ters, Anne Quirk and Margaret
Coulson.
The family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in
Seaforth, Sunday, June 3.
Mass of the Christian Burial wa
held Monday, June 4 at St. James
Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth at
10:30 a.m. Fr. Dino Salvador offici-
ated.
Pallbearers were Tim Nolan,
Michael Nolan, Mark Nolan, Sean
Nolan, Andrew Nolan and Tom
Lapcevich.
Flowerbearers were Pam Nolan,
Laura Nolan, Heather Nolan, Cheryl
Young and Cathy Lapcevich.
Interment was at St. Ambrose
Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brussels.
Memorial donations to the charity of
one's choice would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.
