The Huron County Historical
Society held a meeting on Thursday
evening, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the
Huron County Museiim in Goderich.
President, Ross Duncan, wel-
comed everyone. Secretary-
Treasurer, Rae McFarlane read the
minutes and the treasurer's report.
Paul Carroll reported that a plaque
will be erected in memory of Gavin
Green at the Colborne Cemetery in
October and that the Historical Notes
topic is Waterfront Marine Heritage
along the Lake Huron Shoreline.
Duncan gave the presjdent's address
which covered the past' year's activi-
ties of the society. He also thanked
the council members for their work
during the -past year and also the peo-
ple for being members to support the
society.

The evolution of the Goderich
Grain Elevators has a history
dependent on the birth and growth of
the Buffalo, Brantford and Goderich
Railway which pushed toward
Goderich in 1854.
