Most recent Seaforth fire causes $60,000 damage
Flames once again lit up the sky in
Seaforth, just a week after a I7-year-
old Tuckersmith youth had been arrest-
ed following nine suspicious fires in
the community.
OPP and the Seaforth Fire
Department, called to Quality Jersey
Products at 1:20 a.m., May 28, discov-
ered a dumpster on fire at the 112 High
St. location. The fire had also spread
from the shed to a detached garage at
110 High St. The damage at Quality
Jersey Products is estimated at
$30,000, the same total as suggested
for the garage.
The Crime Unit and Identification
Unit are investigating in conjunction
with Huron OPP as the most recent fire
bears similarities to those from past
incidences.
Fires in recent weeks included a
dumpster next to the LAC (London
Agricultural Commodities Inc.) on
Crombie St. in Seaforth and a dump-
ster just off Main St. behind the town
hall where an officer discovered sever-
al teens. When the officer approached
the teens, they fled the scene.
Officers have visited both elemen-
tary schools and the high school
requesting assistance. Any person who
has information no matter how small it
may seem please call the Huron OPP
or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-
8477(TIPS).
