ELECTION OF DIRECTORS
Elections for two Directors in the central zone, plus one Director-at-Large, will
be held at the Annual meeting on June 21, 2001. Interested individuals may call
Brenda Ritchie, Executive Assistant at 357-3210, Ext. 216, or Judith Gaunt,
Governance and Nominations Chair at 357-2235 for more information and an
outline of the Duties and Responsibilities of a Director.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting or the Wingham and District
Hospital Corporation will be held at Wingham Public School, 131 John Street
East, Wingham, Ontario on Thursday, June 21, 2001 at the hour of eight o'clock
p.m. for the election of Directors; for the appointment of Auditors; and for the
transaction of other such things as may properly come before the meeting.
Elections will be held for two Directors in the Central Zone and for one additional
Director-at-Large. Central Zone Directors, M. Chippa and J. Gaunt are eligible for
re-election.
Copies of the Annual Report and Hospital Financial statements may be obtained
at the front desk of the Wingham and District Hospital, effective June 14, 2001
and at the Annual Meeting.
Membership granting voting privileges may be purchased at the front desk of the
hospital for five dollars ($5.00) prior to five o'clock p.m., Wednesday, June 6,
2001. No membership sold after that time will entitle the purchaser to vote.

BACHERT GROOTHUIS
The Blyth Festival in Blyth was the pretty setting for the December 9,
2000 wedding of Shirlee Bachert and Dr. Brent Groothuis. Mr. John
Dennison was the officiant. Shirlee is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Bachert of Walton and Brent is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Glen Groothuis of
Hudson, Iowa. Sheila Ganoe of W.V. was her sister's matron of honour
arid Sherri McKinley, a sister, of Waterloo, Wendy Bachert, Walton,
Teresa Smith, Iowa, and Jeanette Kember, St. Thomas were the
bridesmatrons. Brad Groothuis, Iowa, twin brother of the groom was the
best man. The groomsmen were Mark Bachert, Walton, Trent Groothuis,
Arizona, Todd Groothuis, Alaska and Bobby Smith. Iowa. Ushering
guests were Marvin Bachert, Walton. Michael Bachert, Maryland,
Andrew Lamb, Washington and Michael Christopherson, Chicago. Junior
attendants were nieces and nephews Brenton, Bradford and Brooklyn
McKinley, Derick and Hailey Bachert, Shakayla Ganoe. Levi Smith and
Sebastian Groothuis. Greeting guests were Sheltie Bachert and Jenny
Groothuis. An elegant canopy dinner reception was held at C.H.S.S. After
honeymooning in Jamaica the couple is residing in ChiCago, Illinois.

little corner, what they have done for
the Walton community, she said.

The Belgrave Sparks ended .their
year with a visit to the Weber Farm
Zoo on May 10. Eleven Sparks
attended as well as eight brottiers
and sisters. Donna Raynard, Kim
Higgins, Elaine Scott and Michelle
Buurs were the parent helpers.
They saw and sometimes touched
llamas, donkeys, miniature ponies,
goats, deer, sheep, peacocks, turkeys

Belgrave resident Erin Sanders
received an award from the Huron-
Perth Catholic District School Board
on Tuesday, May 28, recognizing
her contributions to her school, her
home, her community and her
church.
The Grade 10 student at St. Anne's
Catholic Secondary School in
Clinton received a plaque from
board superintendent Ray Contois,
recognizing her selection as the
board's winner of the Ontario
Catholic School Trustees'
Robbie and Jefferson Gordon from
Plattsville vacationed with Grandma
and .Grandpa Gordon for three days
last week.
Mabel's Moms met at their regular
time on Wednesday, May 23.
Those who attended were: Linda
Hess and Judith; Crystal Agombar
Nicholas, Gage and Curtis Weber.
Their topic was the RCMP Musical
Ride.

Contois described Sanders's
involvement at the school, church
and community levels. At St.
Anne's, Sanders is active in rugby
and curling, as well as drama and
swimming.
Contois also made note of the
tragic recent death of Sanders's
sister, Lia, due to a brain tumour.
Over the past two years, Erin
Sanders has volunteered for a
foundation supporting research into
brain tumours, and has helped create
two quilts for use in fundraising
efforts.
