FROM WALTON
The final euchre was held on May
24. It returns in the fall.
The winners were Frank and Kay
and taking second place were Cecil

With Joan Tuchlinsky away for the
weekend, Graeme Craig was in
charge of the service at Duff's
United.
After the Call to Worship and the
opening hymn, he thanked everyone
who helped make the country
smorgasbord supper a great success.
He also announced that the next
WUCC meeting will be June 6 with
the topic of hoof and mouth disease
being discussed. It is the last
meeting before the summer break.
Next Sunday there will he no
Sunday School as it will be a special

served and welcoming of new
members. Gloria Wilbee will be
adding her musical talents to the
service as well.
Jimmy Campbell called all the
young people forward and told them
the Biblical story about why we
have rainbows in the sky after a rain.
The children enjoyed hearing about
Noah's Ark.
Mr. Craig's theme was about
rainbows. He said he went to the
internet to see what he could find out
about rainbows related to
Christianity. Well there were
thousands of entries so he picked out
a few which he read to the
congregation.
Congratulations to Josh Beisinger
and James Durrell of Walton who
have completed the soccer referee
clinic and are now available to ref
soccer games.
The community musical, The
Rock Slinger and his Greatest Hit is
getting closer to its due date. Its
actual birth will take place June 9 at
8 p.m. at the Walton Hall.
The performers are practising
hard, learning their lines and dance
routines. The costumes and props are
almost completed with just a few
little details to add.
Thanks to Marjory Humphries and
Marie Coutts the backdrop has been
painted and people will be in for a
surprise when they see it. It is so
incredible?
There are only 100 tickets to be
sold so contact Patty Banks, Brian
Black or Marie McGavin.
