(Vicky Bremner photo) Students sell dough The Happy Gang Seniors hosted a euchre tournament at Londesboro Hall oh May I1 with 16 tables in play. Top prize went to Keith and Phyllis Tyndall with 78 points. Carole Daer and Evelyn Christensen were in second place with 76 points while John and Mary Vanden Eisen were Artlose third with 75 pOink, Both Jim Coultes and Mabel Wheeler had the most lone hands with six. There were three share-the-wealth win- ners. The Londesboro Seniors are invited to the Blyth Seniors' meeting at noon on May 23. There will be a seniors' dance at the hall on May 25. Beginning Monday, May 14, Hullett Central Public School will be selling cookie dough, muffin batter and piz- zas as th,:ir last fundraiser.of the year. The proceeds from these products will be used to enhance the Literacy and Numeracy Resource material. It you are interested in help- ing with,this project, contact a Hullett pupil or the school office. Provided the weather co- operates Thursday, May 17 will be track and field day for Hullett pupils. Friday is the rain date. Participating or watching, sunscreen and insect repellent will be musts. In light of the news last week regarding schools_sug- gested for closure in the next few years let's enjoy the pres- ence of the school and the children in our midst now. The pleasure from your sup- port will be reciprocal. Regular churchgoers and visitors witnessed the baptism of Devyn Michael Clark, son of Mike ,and Shannon (Duizer) Clark on Sunday, May 15 at Londesboro United Church.. What a lovely way for Devyn's mom and grand- moms to celebrate Mother's Day. The youthful voices of the junior choir added to the joyous occasion. Rev. Paul Ross's message was Who's In, Who's Out? Supporting scripture passages were Acts 11: 1-18 and John 13: 31-35. Next Sunday is designated as Memorial Sunday. The service is an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to Wayne Ward has now been transferred to the fourth floor, N12, of University Hospital in London. Village residents wish him a speedy recovery. By all reports, there will be plenty of activity in our little village next weekend. Check out the yard sales for bargains, those who have passed away. You are invited to bring pic- tures or memorabilia to the service. Or, if you wish to do so, you are invited to bring flowers for planting around the church as a tribute. You are asked to support the yard dale, bake sale and/or car wash being held on May 19. The hospital information meeting is still a go for Monday, May 21 at 8 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Stewards are accepting donations for their yard sale (no clothing please) until Friday evening. The UCW ladies would appreciate fresh baked goods for their bake sale as well. the bake sale for homemade treats and have your car washed by the youth group. Get out and enjoy if only to catch up on the news with the neighbours. Sunday you can enjoy an innovative church service and beautify the village at the same time. I\ Please Recycle This Newspaper Good turnout at Knox for Mother's Day service There was a good atten- dance at Knox on Sunday, May 13 for Mother's Day. The junior choir treated everyone with song. Following the service the congregation went downstairs as there was a lunch served there. Elliott Lapp said grace and lunch was enjoyed by everyone. Everyone offers a special prayer that Gordon Gross will soon be recovered and home again. More birds have returned. Mr. and Mrs. Baltimore Oriole came a few days ago and Mrs. Hummingbird was back this morning. Daniel 8 to be topic FROM AUBURN of next Bible study E. Ball hosts Walkerburn Club meeting Monday, May 7 the Walkerburn Club met at Ethel Ball's home. Vera Penfound opened the meeting with prayer followed by several good Mothers readings. Roll call was answered by favourite spring flowers and there was good attendance. Minutes of the last meeting were read and treasurer Bernice Norman gave the report and took collection for the day. This meeting was a plant sale and Audrey Boonstoppel was appointed as the auction- •eer. There was an assortment of plants for pots and for the flower beds. Everyone was in a spring buying mood and the capable auctioneer got the highest price for, everything. A social time closed an enjoyable afternoon. May 8 at 1:30 p.m. Bible study was held at Tina Empey's. Rev. Paul Ross was pianist for the hymn-sing. Bible study was on Daniel 7. Reading it left everyone puzzled. However, Rev. Ross was able to unscramble it A number of area school will be getting new principals and vice-principals in September. Both Seaforth District High School and F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham will be getting new teams of a principal and vice- principal in the upcoming school year. Seaforth will be getting a new principal in Jim Moore, coming from Bluewater Secondary School to replace Jeff Reaburn who will be moving to South Huron District Secondary School. The new vice-principal, Pat Senn, comes from Goderich Collegiate Institute, replacing Jerry Selk who will be. going to Goderich. Joe Jankowski will become principal at RE. Madill from forthem. This was a dream of four different empires, of beasts and of God's people. The next chapter for study will be Chapter 8. Bernice Anderson invited the group to her home for the next meet- ing. being the vice-principal at Listowel. F.E. Madill's cur- rent principal, Wayne Tessier will be moving to Bluewater. James Ryan will become the new vice-principal at F.E. Madill, taking over from Tom Craig, who will move to South Huron. Kim Black will become the new principal of Blyth Public School coming from a teach- ing position at Upper Thames Elementary School in Mitchell. Black will replace Willi Laurie who will be moving to Colborne Public School as principal. Ross MacSorley will be leaving Seaforth Public School for Juliet Public School in. Stratford.
