Obituaries
MURRAY LONG
Murray Long of Brussels, passed
away at Wingham and District
Hospital on Wednesday, April 18,
2001. He was in his 67th year.
Born in Cranbrook on March 4,
1935, Murray was the son of Claire
and Ethel Long and the loved hus-
band of the former Carol Smith,
whom he married on Oct. 26, 1957.
His life's work as a carpenter
began at the age of 18 with Harold
Thomas, ending with a short retire-
ment from his, own business.
Murray was a member of the
Brussels Boys and Girls Band during
his high school years and one of the
founding members of the Brussels
Optimist Club.
Murray never lost his unique abil-
ity to figure out what makes things
work.
Murray will be sadly missed by his
wife Carol and daughter Shelley and
her friend Jedd House of London. He
was the brother of Garry of Keswick
and Doreen Hackwell and her hus-
band Merton of RR4, Walton and
brother-in-law of Barbara Davidson
and her husband Ian of Byron. He is
also survived by his one aunt, Jean
Keys, his nephews and their fami-
lies.
Murray was predeceased by his
parents Claire and Ethel Long and a
nephew, Jeff Hackwell.
At Murray's request there will be
no funeral home visitation or serv-
ice.
A graveside service will be con-
ducted at Brussels Cemetery on
Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. with
Mrs. Joan Golden of Brussels United
Church officiating.
As an expressions of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made to
the Seaforth Marching Girls Band,
the North Perth Community
Hospice, 135 Main St. E. Suite 105,
Listowel, ON, N4W 2B5 or to the
charity of one's choice.

ments.
. ARMAND KF,RN1CK
Armand L. Kernick of Lucan and
formerly of Blyth, Watford and
Grand Bend passed away at
Restview Retirement Home, Lucan
on Sunday, April 22, 2001. He was
in his 94th year.
Mr. Kernick was the beloved hus-
band of Flora (Harris) Kernick for
69 years. He was the dear father of
Joan and Robert Taylor of Lucan and
dear grandfather of Luanne and
Brian Herbert, Brad and Jan Taylor
and Karen and Paul Medd, all of
Lucan. Mr. Kernick was also the
dear great-grandfather of Brent and
Christie, Ryan and Shara, Michael
and Trisha; Dan and Andrew; and
Lindsay and Julie and dear great-
great-grandfather of Matthew
Herbert.
He was predeceased by twin infant
sons and a.sister Louise Fyle.
Friends called at the C. Haskett
and Son Funeral Home, 223 Main
St., Lucan on Monday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9
p.m. where the funeral service was
held on Tuesday, April 24 at 11 a.m.
with Rev. Gordon Duncan officiat-
ing.
Interment was in Blyth Union
Cemetery 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Donations to the Heart & Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated by
the family.
EDNA MAE MONTGOMERY
Mrs. Edna Montgomery of
Wingham, formerly of Blyth, passed
away at Wingham and District
Hospital. Wingham on Monday,
April 23, 2001. She was 92.
The former Edna Jackson was the
beloved wife of the late Archibald
Montgomery who predeceased her
in 1999. She was the sister-in-law of
Ruby Jackson and Ethel
Montgomery both of Wingham, aunt
of Vera and Angus Falconer of
Whitechurch, Dianne Walden of
Goderich and Art and Celia Jackson
of Kitchener. She is also survived by
several Montgomery nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Montgomery was prede-
ceased by her sister Frances
Montgomery and her brother Harry
Jackson.
Visitation was at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham, on
Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the
time of the funeral at 2 p.m. Rev.
Brad Beale officiated.
Interment was in Blyth Union
Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Wingham
and District Hospital or the charity
of one's choice would be appreciated
as expressions of sympathy.
ANNE BONESCHANSKER
Anne Boneschansker passed away
peacefully at her home at RR2,
Newmarket on Monday, April 16,
2001.
The former Anne Rendering was
in her 91st year.
She was the beloved wife of the
late John Boneschansker and dear
mother of John and his wife Carol of
RR I, Ethel, Robert and his wife Jean
of RR2, Newmarket, Augustus and
his wife Rita of Columbus, Ohio,
Steve and his wife Ina of Ottawa,
Hilda and her husband Ralph
Dykstra of Barrie. She was the dear
sister-in-law of Lena Boneschansker
of Guelph and special aunt of
Georg.e and Ebby Boneschansker
and family of Scarborough, and John
and Judy Boneschansker of
Powassan.
Seventeen grandchildren and 17
great-grandchildren also survive her.
Friends called at the Lathangue
and Skwarchuk Funeral Home,
Bradford for visitation. Funeral serv-
ice was held at the Ansnorveldt
Christian Reformed Church on
Thursday, April 19 at 2 p.m.
Interment was at Mt. Pleasant
Cemetery, Bradford.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.
