Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Grass cattle sell $5 higher, short keeps up $4 Total receipts at Brussels Livestock for the week ending April 14 were 2,381 head of cattle and 565 lambs and goats. On Tuesday, fed steers and heifers sold at prices $2 higher. Also on Tuesday, the cows traded $2 higher. On Thursday, veal sold $2 to $5 higher and the lambs sold on a strong, active trade. On Saturday, grass cattle sold at prices $5 higher and the short keeps sold at prices $4 higher. There were 509 steers on offer selling from $122 to $130 with sales to $138.50. K.B.D. Farms, Walton, consigned one charolais steer weighing 1,310 lbs: selling to Norwich Packers for $138.50. Their overall offering of thirty-eight steers averaged 1,357 lbs. and sold for an average of $127.60. Schmidt Brook Farms Inc., Woodstock, consigned one gold steer weighing 1,475 lbs. which sold to St. Helens Meat Packers for $137. Their overall offering of twelve steers averaged 1,491 lbs. selling for an average of $130.34.
