NICK VAN NES
In one tragic moment, Feb. 23,
2001 Nick van Nes of RR1, Ethel
began his eternal journey. Nick was
27.
Born on March 8, 1973, Nick was
the son of William van Nes, and the
recently deceased Margaret van
Nes. He was a beloved brother to
Terry Ann van Nes of Ethel, Mary
Lynn and Tom Ott of Modesto,
California, . Kathy and Pawel
Brudnicki of Mississauga, Tina and
John Vehof of Bright, Bill and
Cindy van Nes of Ethel and Bob
van Nes of Ethel. Nick was also a
dear uncle to Helen, Theresa,
Melissa, Thomas, Krysia, Eric,
Jessica, Jozef, Julia and Nicole, and
beloved grandson to Johanna
Terpstra of Brussels. He will also be
missed by his close friend Mike
Stevens and special friend Nicole
Horrigan.
The family and extended family
prayed for Nick on Monday after-
noon and received friends in the
evening at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home, Brussels. A funeral
mass was celebrated at St. Ambrose
Roman Catholic Church, Brussels,
Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m.
Spring interment will be in St.
Ambrose Cemetery, Brussels.
Pallbearers were brothers, Bill
and Bob, brothers-in-law, Tom,
Pawel and John and close friend
Mike.
Nick lived life with a a passion
and ensured each day was full. He
was a farmer with a vision for the
future and was dedicated to farming
with his father and two brothers,
Bill and Bob. He was also very
active at St. Ambrose Roman
Catholic Church, in broomball, soc-
cer, baseball and in Junior Farmers.
Because of the recent death of
Nick's mother, Nick had an under-
standing of death beyond his years.
He was strong in his faith and
understood that when you do some-
thing, you do it with God. He had a
great respect for God's role in the
crops he grew, and the cattle he
raised and milked.
Nick brought joy to life for his
family and friends and will always
be remembered by his credos: "Live
life as though there is no tomor-
row," and "Always dance as though
no one's looking."
May the strength of Nick's faith
carry us through this difficult time
during this Lenten season where we
are reminded of the passion of our
Lord Jesus. Amen.
Give Mom a hug. We love you ...
Dad, your brothers and sisters.
High Five, Uncle Nick ... your
nieces and nephews.
Injuries kill more
