Clobbers entertain Swinging Seniors t5e,
On Feb. 28, 28 Blyth Swinging
Seniors enjoyed a potluck dinner at
Memorial Hall. Afterward they were
treated to three clog dance perform-
ances by three girls from the school
Jenna Rinn, Jessica Nethery and
Kaitlyn Toll.

by Aubrey Toll, accompanied by
Elva Brown.
Those with February birthdays
At the March 5 meeting of North
Huron council, Director of
Finance/Treasurer Donna White said
that the staff was in the process of
setting up the billing and collecting
procedures for water. Arrangements
are being made with- the banks for
various payment options.
It is hoped everything will be
ready for April.
White also said that she hopes to
issue an interim tax bill by the end of
March with an April due date.

Council approved payment of the
bills and accounts in the amount of
$456,987.06.
Council authorized repairs to the
engine of Blyth's one-ton truck for
an estimated cost of $1,250.

S. Price, urban roads foreman will
attend the Ontario Good Roads
School's municipal survey course at
an estimated cost of $750.

In his report, Director of Public
Works Bob Thompson indicated that
for the township to meet the new
standards for two-way radios, it may
cost $20,000 to $21,000, to link the
three wards.

Park. The price for renting the park
and facilities is $50 or $35 for the
pool. Bev or Alex Blair will provide

Mr. and Mrs. John Bos were pres-
ent to discuss a building lot on
Drummond Street in Blyth. The
services, nor the street extend to the
property. Thompson's estimate for
the work was $12,800. The Boses
questioned whether a private drive
could be constructed to provide
access to the property rather than
having the street extended.
• Clerk-Administrator John Stewart
indicated that the Planning Act stip-
ulates the property must have access
to a public road before a building
permit can be issued. He said he was
not certain if the private driveway
would qualify.
-A meeting will be set up between
the county planner and the Boses to
further discuss the matter.

Blyth celebrates its 125th birthday
in 2001, Aug. 3 - 5. Profits will go to
the arena. The annual bus trip is
June 28 to Kitchener and the
Drayton Theatre with supper at Anna
Mae's.
A number of gueSts from Belgrave
will attend the March 28 meeting for
dessert. Dorothy Bolton will speak.

North Huron council briefs
Thanks
Alex Blair, representing the Blyth Legion and Blyth Lions presented two cheques of $500 to
members of Blyth Scouts to help with costs for their trip to Prince Edward Island for the
Jamboree. Thirteen Scouts and three Leaders will be travelling east. Blair said in return for the
funding, the youths will be helping with many community events such as the upcoming fiefight-
ers convention this August and the 125th anniversary celebration also this summer.
