FROM BELGRAVE
The annual World Day of Prayer

was hosted by the women of the
Calvin-Brick Unit, assisted by the
women of the Presbyterian Church
and other United Church units. The
theme this year was, Informed

led the Call to Worship, Prayer of
Adoration and Prayer of Confession.
Muriel Coultes conducted the

friendship to the guests. As Mrs.
Coultes read about the tradition,
pieces of pineapple were received by
the group, after which Margaret
Siertsema responded representing
the guests.
Joan Pederson, and Ivy Cloakey
read the passages of scripture, which
were interspersed with hymns,
accompanied by Jessie McGee.
Mrs. Dow then showed slides of
Samoa, which had been prepared
for this special World Day of Prayer.
Mrs. Coultes led through the
prayers of intercession and closed
the service with the reading of the
Jesus Prayer, from the New Zealand
Prayer Book.
As the closing gong sounded all
