things on the special table.
The crowd could then help them-
selves to a dessert and beverage
before leaving for home. The WI is
giving the proceeds from the after-
noon to the Children's Hospital, a
very worthwhile selection.
A good number attended the
euchre party at the Auburn
Community Hall on Feb. 22. On
arrival they were greeted by Tena
Empey and Teresa Roetcisoender,
then enjoyed beverages and desserts
before playing cards.

North Huron council was informed
at its Feb. 19 meeting -that Jack
Straughan has been hired to sell
dog tags in East Wawanosh for $4 a
tag. ***
Council -accepted the quote of
Huron Landscaping Ltd. for comple-
tion of a design at the Day Care
Centre in Wingham. Cost is $1,750
plus GST.

Kari-Ann Nicholson has been
hired as aquatic supervisor for North
Huron.

Guy' Cluff, CEO of Westario
Power Corporation advised council
that the new corporation had com-
menced operations. A new software
billing program was being installed
and it was hoped that the administra-
tion would be centralized by April
An application had been made to
the Ontairo Energy Board for harmo-
nized rates. "In essence every cus-
tomer in the same customer class
will see the same rates," said Kluff.

A motion passed confirming the
director of Westario. They are
Robert Jameson, Mark Kraemer,
Ralph Kreutzwiser, Bruce Machan,
William Roseborough, William
Joseph Daley, Audrey Webb,
William Lawless and Lyn Lowry.

An engineer's report for North
Street, Wingham is being prepared at
a cost of $11,000 plus GST. The cost
will be shared equally by North
Huron and Morris-Tumberry.

Payment in the amount of $25 for
membership in the Huron County
Municipal Officers' Association was
approved. Also $15 will be paid for
each person attending the annual
meeting in Howick Twp. on
April 20.

Director of Finance/Treasurer
Donna White will attend the
AMCTO seminar on Bill 140 and
OPTA in Kincardine on March 28.
Registration to be paid by the town-
ship is $53.50.

Council accepted with regrets the
resignations of Wendy Herbert and
Catherine MacDonald from the
Wingham Museum Board.

The Maitland Valley Conservation
Authority levy for North Huron
increased 9.96 per cent up to
$26,309.85 from $23,928.04.

Councillor Archie MacGowan
asked about the status of Wingham's
lifetime dog tags. He had received a
complaint from a ratepayer who had
to purchase a new tag even though
the dog had a lifetime tag.
Councillor Arnold Taylor declared
a pecuniary interest and left council
chambers.
Clerk-Administrator John Stewart
indicated that he had understood the
tags would no longer be honoured
once the new municipality was in
place.
Council agreed that all dog owners
must now purchase their tags annual-
ly.

Stewart was authorized to order
1,000 township lapel pins with the
new logo.
