Pride in accomplishments
Central Huron Secondary School Grade 11 student Jamie
Lewis of the Blyth area, proudly displayed some of the cer-
tificates of achievement earned through the Royal
Canadian Legion's Remembrance Day poster and poem
competition. Lewis earned first for her poem and colour
poster at the zone level and a first for her poem and second
for the poster in the district contest. With the first-place
poem, Lewis's work has now advanced to the provincial
level.

activates
remote
system
Sparling's Propane recently acti-
vated a new tank monitoring system
at a propane installation the compa-
ny owns at Bluewater Fibre near
Tiverton. The system will enable
Sparling's to remotely monitor the
amount of propane remaining in the
tank from any Sparling's office over
a secure internet site.
Manufactured by LPG Central in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, this is the first of
these systems to be installed in
Canada, and Sparling's will use this
first site for a one to two-year test
period. During the test period,
Sparling's will evaluate the accura-
cy of tank readings, the reliability of
the information, and determine if
seasonal weather or environmental
issues affect performance.
If the test is successful, Sparling's
will install these systems at large-
scale commercial, industrial,
autoPropane and agricultural instal-
lations where historical propane
consumption patterns naturally fluc-
tuate.
Sparling's Propane was estab-
lished in 1951, and today, is the sec-
ond largest propane company in
Ontario with Regional Distribution
Facilities in Blyth, Flesherton and
Brechin.
