On Monday, Feb. 12 there were
eight tables participating in the
weekly euchre party at Bainton's Art
Gallery. The highs for the evening
were Carol Daer and Edythe
Glousher. The most lone hands were
earned by Ilene Leddy and Al
Donaldson. Margaret Nesbitt and
Bernice Higgins had the low scores.

property damage at I p.m. on Feb, 1
16. The attending officer learned 1
that during lunch an unknown
person threw a snowball at the front 1
window breaking it. 1
No one was seen in the area and
police are investigating the incident. 1

The March Drive will soon be
upon us again this year. This
function is the Kidney Foundation's
largest fundraiser of the year.
During the month of March
canvassers donate their time to go
door to door in their neighbourhoods
collecting funds to support Kidney
Foundation projects.
Kidney failure can be sudden and
acute, as happens with poisonings,
people hurt in traffic accidents or
soldiers wounded in battle (due to'
blood loss and shock). Or it can
develop gradually from chronic
conditions such as diabetes
(responsible for almost 25 per cent
of kidney failure) and high blood
pressure. Disorders that affect
human kidney function include
of the Goderich Lions Club, was
named a Melvin Jones Fellow.

honours commitment to
humanitarian services.

kidney function dwindles down to
about 10 per cent of normal, one of
two lifesaving therapies becomes
essential, dialysis (blood
purification by artificial means) or a
kidney transplant.
Kidney problems can happen to
anyone so when a canvasser comes
to your door, give generously so that
more discoveries can be made to
correct the problems easily.
