THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2001. Morris-Turnberry council discusses severance By Lindsay Kulas Wingham Advance-Times Council of the Morris-Turnberry Municipality gathered for the first bi-monthly meeting last Tuesday evening, Feb. 6. One of the issues dealt with was the engineering work for North Street in Wingham. A motion was carried that the Twp. of North Huron be sent a letter from the council agreeing to go ahead with the planning for repairs to the boundary road. Mord s - Turribe rry shares responsibility of this road with North Huron. However, Morris-Turnberry says it will not be responsible for cost sharing on water and sanitary sewers. Council also agreed that North Huron's choice, Maitland Engineering Services, may be appointed for the project. Reports from Council Wayne Riley said the county has looked at the problem at Huron Pole and Timber, concerning transport trucks blocking the view of drivers at the C-Line and County Road 12. But Riley reported that "Truck Turning Signs" and "Bus Turning Signs" are not warranted, according to the county. Council instructed the Clerk Dorothy Kelly to contact the county engineer to state this fact. Property Severing Steve Michie and Paul Fear attended to discuss the possibility of severing 3.8 hectares from Michie's property, which he would retain and sell the remainder to the adjoining property owner, Fear. The zoning for the property is currently an AG 1, but would require a rezoning to AG 4 if he retains the house and buildings, which amount to approximately 10 acres. Michie has 40 calves at the present time situated on this property. Building Inspector Byron Ellis said that Michie would need a antrient management agreement as a condition of sale. Michie needed to know if he applies to the county for the severance, if council would agree with it. Council members said they could not see any problems subject to squaring off the property being retained, putting a manure management agreement in place and that the number of animal units in the barn be within the permit of the plan and that all set backs are met. Michie will talk to the planner at Continued on page 20 Business Directo - COMPLETE MECHANICAL SERVICE - COMPUTERIZED TUNE-UPS - TIRES - BRAKES MUFFLERS - VEHICLE INSPECTION STATION DAN'S AUTO REPAIR Owned and Operated by Dan & Heather Snell RR 3, Blyth, Ont.
