The Brussels Bantam Bulletts hit
the road Thursday, Feb. 1 for Huron
Park to play Exeter.
The Bulletts struck early register-
ing the first goal in the opening
frame. Ashley Ritchie picked up a
Brittany Campbell centering pass
and rapped the puck home off her
own rebound.
In the third, Kerri Meier put
Brussels up by two banking a shot in
off a defender's glove assisted by
Campbell. Exeter picked up a goal
moments later to narrow the margin
to one. The Biilletts struck back with
Campbell scoring on a wraparound.
Exeter mounted a charge but were
denied by the goaltending of Nikki
Berfeltz in the Brussels cage.
The final score was Bulletts 3,
Exeter 1.
It was an exciting match when
Exeter made the return trip to
Brussels on Feb. 3. Ritchie opened
the scoring assisted by Campbell and
Michelle Cook. The Bulletts struck
again with Cook scoring a nice goal
set up by Jenn Hopf and Ritchie. The
Bulletts continued their assault
notching another marker to give
them a three-goal lead. Ritchie
snapped in her second of the night
set up by Hopf and Campbell.
Exeter however came storming
back in the third busting the twine
twice to narrow the margin to one.
Campbell put the Bulletts up by
two again on a feed from Cook.
Exeter would close out the scoring
with just over a minute remaining
but that's as close as they came. The
Bulletts hung on for the 4-3 victory.
The final game of the season for
the Bulletts was Sunday, Feb. 4 in
Brussels with Lambeth in town.

Lambeth came with a depleted squad
and that would prove to be costly.
Ritchie scored for Brussels seconds
into the game on a nice tip from a
Rachel Elliott shot. Hopf gained the
other assist. Then Nicole Procter put
the home team up by two tucking the
puck behind the Lambeth goalie on a
pass by Campbell.
Early in the second Procter struck
again beating the Lambeth goalie
with a wrist shot set up by Elliott.
Seconds later Elliott fed the puck to
Kristen Palmer who put the squad up
by four. Meier then scored on a wrist
shot assisted by Cook.
wen
Procter notched the hattrick on a
back-hand shot in the third assisted
by Campbell. Campbell increased
the lead to seven slapping the puck
in the Lambeth net assisted by
Procter and Sarah McDonald. Elliott
tallied the final Bullett marker scor-
ing with a minute left in the game.
She was set up by Procter. The final
score was Brussels 8, Lambeth 0.
The Bulletts finished the regular
season with 17 wins, one loss and
two ties to finish top in their league.
Now they look forward to their
league playoffs and provincial play-
downs beginning next weekend.
