Schedule
The Bluewater Recycling Association and all its staff
would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and
a happy New year. During this holiday season, we
postpone the regular collection of waste and recyclabl-es
in order to al-low our staff to savour this joyous holiday
season with their family.
As a result there will be no collection on Friday
December 25 and _Friday January 1. 3-fo-wever, a
special collection will take place on Saturday January 2.
Residents from Caradoc, Ekfric4' and Middlesex Centre
will also be collected on Saturday December 26.
The regular collection schedule
will-resume on Monday January 4.

Community watch
A little more than a dozen people gathered at Bainton
Gallery in Blyth, Dec. 15 to listen to a presentation by
OPP Constable Del Mercey about the community policing
program, Citizens on Patrol. Residents were given
application forms to complete to participate in COP. Blyth
co-ordinator Kathy Bromley was also on hand.
Meeting the jolly old elf
Joshua Baarda wasn't too sure of old St. Nick when he
stopped by for a visit as part of the Christmas
celebrations in Blyth, Dec. 19.

Don and Lenore Scrimgeour,
owners of Knechtel Food Market in
Blyth are expanding their store
once again.
Scrimgeour's Food Market first
expanded in 1990 and then again in
1992 and with the incredible
support from the community and
surrounding area, Don and Lenore
have decided on further expansion
and renovation.
"We want to be able to serve the
community better" said Don, "and
with this expansion we will be

Blyth Festival Gift Package.
Brindley submitted a poem
describing Christmas with her fam-
ily in response to The Citizen"s
request for stories from our readers
telling about their holiday tradi-
tions.
Her name was selected in a ran-
dom draw. Some of the entries
have been included in this week's
issue.

50 per cent more frozen food and
ice cream, 25 per cent more dairy, a
new meat counter, expanded
produce area, fresh paint and decor
package and a brand new entrance.
The overall result will be a fresh
new look to the store, said Don.
The project is scheduled to begin
in early January.

Scrimgeours plan expansion
Four Blyth residents were injured
Dec. 16 as a result of a two-car col-
lision.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., a
1988 Mercury Topaz, driven by
Kerry Hallahan, slowed to make a
left turn off Bayfield Road in
Goderich, into a Honda dealership.
The Hallahan vehicle was struck
from behind by a 1983 Olds Cut-

were taken to Alexandra and
Marine Hospital in Goderich by

They were treated and released.
Hildebrand has been charged
under the Highway Traffic Act.
