For this year's event, floats were decked out in western style to bring in the season. Hullett buys pipe Hullett Twp. residents along Cty. Road 4 north of Clinton may soon be seeing an upgrade to their water service. Bruce Schoenhals, Clinton PUC manager; attended the Dec. 1 meet- ing of Welt council to discuss the project. Council instructed Schoenhals to send the township a draft agree- ment which would outline matters such as rights, responsibilities and fee collection. It will be considered at the next session. Road Superintendent Jim John- ston was authorized to purchase culvert pipes from Armtec Indus- tries at a cost of $8,665.36, not including taxes. A second quote for $9,764.73 had been received by council. Four grader tires will be bought from MGM Townsend Tire and Rim for $1,120 per tire, not includ- ing taxes. Another quote for $1,105 plus taxes had been received. A request from H. Van Schiek, Lot 18, Conc. 14, for drain mainte- nance on Bowes drain, was referred to Drainage Superintendent Geoff King. Council will seek quotes 'for garbage collection for a two-year period, beginning Jan. 1. Tenders arc due Dec. 14. A motion was passed supporting the continued talks between Clin- ton, Blyth. and Goderich and Hul- lett Twp. with regards to amalgamation. In a recorded vote, all councillors voted in favour of the motion. Applications from area charities will be accepted until Dec. 31 to be included in the township's roster for funding through the Ontario Lot- tery Corporation. Councillor Marg Anderson will obtain information on flags for the next council meeting. The township had been asked for their flag to fly at the IPM in 1999. Support was given to Scaforth arena hoard in their application for a liquor license. Accounts payable, totalling S206,634.05, were approved for payment. Simon Hagedoom from Oviedo, FL and Adam Hagedoorn from Mississauga visited Peter and Marion Hagedoorn and helped with the impending move of Marion Hagedoom to Cranbrook. On Dec. 3 close neighbours of Cleon Brubacher gathered at his home on the 10th of Grey Twp. to wish him well in his new home.
