It can be started by parents, grandparents, relatives or friends. • Each child can receive a maximum Canada Education Savings Grant of $400 per year (with a savings contribution of $2,000). Youth Strategie Employment emploi Strategy jeunesse • If a child does not use his or her RESP you can transfer the savings to another child or roll the savings into your RRSP. • The important thing is to start today. Even a modest RF_SP contribution, along with the grant, can grow into a nest egg to help offset the cost of post-secondary education. • This program is part of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. The team held Milverton away. An overpowering Seaforth squad stormed into Blyth Nov. 30 and blew their hosts away by a score of 7-0. The visitors were all over the Blyth end, notching two in the first, four in the second and one in the third to take this solid victory. On Dec. 2, the Novices fared bet- ter against Mitchell in a home game. The final score was 3-1. Tallying markers for Blyth were Kody Reid, Kendall Whitfield and Brittany Peters. Assists went to Richard Gregg, Peters and Whit- field. Anthony Peters enjoyed a solid game in net, while none of his teammates spent a minute in the penalty box. On Dec. 5, Blyth was on the los- ing side again with a narrow 1-0 miss to Elma-Logan away. Dec. 6, Milverton were less than gracious hosts sending a visiting Blyth squad defeated 4-1. Whitfield was the only Blyth player to find the mark with an assist to Blake Hesselwood. Bantams suffer first season loss The Blyth Bantam added wins and losses to their roster during the past two weeks. On Nov. 26 they travelled to Milverton and endured their first defeat of the season. The Milverton squad snarled a little louder than the pack and the intimidation paid off as the Dogs suffered a loss of 6- 2 in Milverton's favour. Craig Marks and Nick Courtney bulged the opposing twine during the first period, but Blyth just couldn't muster enough force to combat Milverton. They travelled to the Tiverton tournament the next weekend and after a win and a loss faced off against the Wingham Bantams for the final B championship game. The Blyth Dogs were practically salivating at the thought of a win against these boys. It was end-to-end-action, but Wingham came away with the trophy after popping an unanswered goal into the Blyth net leaving the score 5-4. Blyth goals were scored by Jeremy Austin, Scott Austin (two), and Matt Bromley. Manager Doug Walker, who was both relieved and disappointed, said "We asked the boys to give us 100 per-cent and we got 101 per- cent. You can't get better than PeeWees win, lose It was a win, loss week for Blyth PeeWee local league. The best story was Dec. 3 when Blyth hosted Clinton and downed them by a convincing 4-1. Tyler Kernighan and Darren Austin put the team on the board in the first period. Assists went to Neil Salverda and Kernighan. Blyth's Lee Prescott bulged the twine in the second, only to have it cancelled seconds later by Clinton's only goal. The final goal came off the stick of Kyle Campbell with assists to Cody Anderson and Prescott. On Dec. 5 the team travelled to Seaforth and were defeated 3-1. Austin, off plays by Kernighan and Salverda scored the lone Blyth marker. that!" Milverton trekked to Blyth on Nov. 30 and found the Dogs with a bit more of a bite on their home turf. Although that game ended in a tie of 5-5, the Bulldogs played consistently better than the last time these two teams met, with their efforts rewarded. The team benefitted from PeeWee pickups Cole Stewart and Andy Toll's assistance for this game. Goals were scored by Sawn Henry, Derek Cook (three) and Cole Stewart. TrainVr Brent Scrimgeour was pleased-to see that his Bulldogs didn't take back seat when in the face of adversity. The next home games are Dec. 7, 14 and 21 at 7 p.m.
