The F.E. Madill Secondary School Council in
Wingham requires two community representatives.
The School Council is a volunteer group of parents, teachers, students and community
members who work together to advise the school's administration on current issues
and matters of concern. With the many changes now taking place in education, this
group's role has become increasingly important. If you are interested in your child's
education, this group is your vehicle for being informed about what is going on in the
school and also is a mechanism for having a positive influence on upcoming issues,
While the School Council's primary role is that of an advisory group to the school
administration, they are also committed to financially helping student groups within the
school. They assist as they are able to, consider financial needs that are brought to
their attention, and continue to investigate fundraising opportunities on behalf of the
school.
As a community representative, you would participate in School Council meetings;
when possible, you would participate in information and training sessions, act as a link
between the School Council and the community; and, encourage the participation of
parents from all groups and of other people within the school community.
If you are interested, please call Terry Matz, Chair of the F.E. Madill Secondary School
Council at 357-1922. You are also welcome to attend our next School Council meeting
on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:30 p.m., in the library of F.E. Madill Secondary
School in Wingham.
