Blyth PeeWees win 4, lose 1
The Blyth PecWee Local League
has had a very successful three
weeks, racking up four victories
and only one loss.
They took a trouncing from
Seaforth on Oct. 29, suffering a 12-
1 loss.
Cody Anderson earned the lone
point off the stick of Taylor Hessel-
wood.
The results were much better
when the Goderich Kinsmen squad
took to the ice in the village, Nov.
5.
Though the visitors struck first,
Mike Bean popped the first of two,
at 4:07 of the second, to even the
tally.
Blyth came out hard in the third
when Bean pushed the team into
the lead at 13:39 with an assist
from Brett Bean.
A pass from M. Bean set up the
third netter of the night when Dar-
ren Austin got hold of the puck to
slam it by the defeuder.
The hometowners upped their
lead to 4-1 off a B. Bean goal
before Goderich began to chal-
lenge.
With less than three minutes
remaining, Blyth led 4-2 with each
team scoring in the final minutes.
The roll continued on Sunday as
Blyth blasted Clinton 17-1.
The team padded their stats and
achieved numbers not often wit-
nessed in hockey.
An outstanding effort by Lee
Prescott put him in the position to
score seven goals while Anderson
It was a blowout for the Blyth
PeeWee Reps, Nov. 18, when they
downed Mitchell 10-1.
As the netminder Cody Anderson
came within 10 seconds of earning
a shutout.
In rapid succession, Blyth put
three goals on the board when Kirk
Stewart and Andy Toll scored three
in one minute.
Stewart was assisted by Cole
Stewart at 12:31. Lee Prescott put
the puck on Toll's stick for the sec-
ond and Trevor Koehler and Ryan
McClinchey combined to set up K.
Stewart for his second.
On Saturday, Brussels Tykes
travelled to Goderich for a 2:30
game.
Goderich started quickly and had
several scoring chances. Goaltender
Ryan Smith made several good
saves to keep Goderich off the
scoreboard.
After this initial attack Brussels
found their skating legs and
produced several scoring chances
of their own. Late in the first period
Brendan Stretton fed a pass to Joel
Wilkinson who was all alone in
front of the Goderich net. Joel
quickly deposited the puck behind
the Goderich netminder to give
Brussels a one goal lead.
Early in the second period Taylor
Prior who played an outstanding
game on defense, intercepted an
errant pass at the Goderich
blueline. He made a nifty deke on
the lone Goderich defender and
went in alone to beat the Goderich
goaltender with a backhand shot.
With a 2-0 lead Brussels
continued to exert pressure but the

Campbell, one.

scoring contest.

ers with four, B. Bean had three,
Prescott, three, and Salvcrda, M.
Bean and Campbell each had one.
Assists were earned by M. Bean
(two), Salverda, (two), Anderson
(two) and Witherspoon (one).
Blyth was also successful Nov.
15 when they visited another
OMHA challenger, Goderich CTC.
A good early effort by the squad
gave Blyth a six-goal lead.
Anderson and M. Bean tallied the
two in the first with M. Bean, Tyler
Kemighan and Salverda assisting.
The onslaught continued through
the second when Anderson put two
more in the net, at 6:12 and 4:10.
Assists went to B. Bean, Austin,
Prescott and Witherspoon.
M. Bean topped off the mid-
frame scoring with a solo effort at
3:22.

the game off a pass from M. Bean
to Austin.
Goderich spoiled the shutout at
11:29 when one slid over the lint.
Salverda completed the tally with
a closing goal at 1:12 for the 7-1
win. B. Bean assisted.
They came out blasting in the
second period, never letting off on
the attack.

Van Amersfoort for the netter at
13:48, followed by goals from
Micah Loder (two) and Toll.
