Knox hosts Bible Study
The Knox United Church was
beautifully decorated for the
Thanksgiving Service.
Rev. Paul Ross gave the church
announcements. Next Sunday, Oct.
18 will be the anniversary service.
Lunch will be served afterwards.
The children were invited to the
front and from the mystery bag a
thank you card was drawn. Rev.
Ross spoke to the children on the
importance and value of thanks and
received some excellent answers to
his questions.
Rev. Ross then gave the scripture
from Philippians 4. Here the
followers were told to rejoice in the
Lord, to give prayer and thanks for
his care.
The choir sang.-
The second scripture was from
John 6. In this Christ told the
people that God gave the bread of
life to this world and told them to
believe in Him.
The sermon was on "The Good

Life". One must live a life
following God's word, Rev. Ross
said. They must always think of
others who need help and prayer.
In some places, he said, there arc
droughts, floods, and poverty.
There is so much in this land for
which to give thanks.
The Worse]] family greeted for
this Thanksgiving service.
Bible Study was held at the Knox
United on Oct. 6. Marjorie
McDougall was pianist and Rev.
Ross led the hymn-sing.
Study was on Acts 15. There
arose arguments over ancient
Jewish laws between the Jews and
Gentiles. The Apostles and church
elders had discussion and told them
that faith in God saved one and all.
This message brought joy through
the churches. The disciples
continued teaching and preaching
God's word.
The meeting closed with prayer.
Acts 16 is to be studied for the
meeting on Oct. 13.
