(Ashley Gropp photo) Choir Boys to perform at Centre `For Art's Sake' at Blyth For Art's Sake, by Colin Heath, uses puppetry, songs and slide projections to portray a comical story about a little boy, his imagination and the power of art. On Art McArthur's 11th birthday, his mom gives him a sketch pad and felt pen and drops him off at the art museum before she rushes off to work. With his new friend Franny, Art discovers more than just Picassos as his journey into the world of art takes him on a side trip to his own imagination. Franny's birthday gift to Art is a magical picture frame. It becomes a bridge between reality and dream; by walking through the frame Art encounters a silly bird who wants just to eat worms, l a talking scribble, and a scary heap of crumpled paper. More importantly, he discovers his own creativity, learns about the essence of art, and finds out that dreams are worth believing in. For Art's Sake is Theatre for Young Audiences produced by Geordie Productions and will be presented by Blyth Festival to school children Oct. 26 - 30. Two public performances, on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. will delight all children over the age of five. Tickets are only $4 each.
