Half century plus 10
It was a very special occasion for Mary and Fred Howson
of Blyth when they marked 60 years of marriage, Sept.
10. The Howsons, who have seven children, 19
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, gathered
with family at Blyth Memorial Hall, Sept. 20. Special
guests were Mrs. Howson's brothers and sisters and their
spouses and Mr. Howson's sister-in-law. The Howsons
are members of Blyth United Church and The Gideon
Society.

Shoot was held on Friday, Sept.
11 at the Belgrave Community
Centre.
Winners were: high lady, Lois
Chamney; second high lady,
Edythe Coultes; most shoots, Kay
McCormick; low lady, Doris
Michie; high man, George Inglis;
second high man, Kay Rich; most
shoots, Ross Taylor; low man,
George Michie.
The next shoot will be on Friday,
Sept. 25.
The September meeting of the
Belgrave Community Club was
held Friday, Sept. 4 in the club
room with 19 present.
1999 is the International Year of
Older People.
President Lorne Campbell
reported on a Wingham travel bus
trip to Baili where cranberries arc
grown and processed. The trip will
include a visit to the Big Shute, the
first section of the Trent River
System.
