As a parent with two children in our schools I have been watching the same shell game being played with their education. We used to joke about politicians trying to buy THE EDITOR, I have been on the planning committee for the Terry Fox Run which we hold annually in Brussels, and over those years my admiration for Terry Fox and his courage has grown significantly. Terry was diagnosed with osteogcnic sarcoma (bone cancer) in his right leg in 1977. While in hospital, Terry was so overcome by the suffering of cancer patients that he decided to run across Canada to raise funds for cancer research. It really galls me to be lied to with my own money, to have them squandering it on politically motivated ads while they are stealing it from my children's schools and my back pocket in user fees and slashed services. So, how much did their ad cost? I'd like to see them spending it on education, not gearing up for a politically motivated battle with parents and teachers this fall.
