Brussels Midget Girls take Tri-County championship
The Brussels Midget Girls
captured the Tri-County Girls
softball championship with a two-
game sweep of Listowel.
In game one Brussels counted
eight runs in their first at-bat and
sailed to a 29-1 win. Krissy
Dilworth handled the mound duties
and struck out 11 while allowing
only three hits.
In the second game in Listowel
Brussels scored four runs in their
first at-bat on hits by Tyler Seeds,
Michelle Thompson, Crystal
Semple, Lisa Coyne and Leslie
Elliott.
Listowel bounced back to take a
5-4 lead, but Brussels came back
with two of their own on hits by
Dilworth and Semple to lead 6-5.
The visitors added to the lead
with two more in the fifth as Amy
Crawford scored along with Les
Stretton on walks by Kendra
Moffat and Holly Park to lead.
Listowel climbed within a run at
8-7 and had the tying run at third,
but Krissy Dilworth fanned the
batter for the final out. ,
The Midget girls acknowledge
the fans and parents for support this
summer.

Brewers win tournament B title
The Annual Goderich Fastball
Tournament was held on Labour
Day Weekend with 32 teams
competing in two divisions.
The Walton Brewers faced the
Goderich Dukes in their first game
Friday at 6:30 p.m. Steve Cook was
the starter and pitched six innings
of great ball.
Jeff Robinson started the
Brewers with a solo homerun to go
ahead 1-0. The Dukes rallied with
three runs of their own.
With a runner on, Rick
- McDonald's homerun scored the
needed two to tic the game.
Walton went ahead in the sixth 4-
3 and Scott Leonhardt came in in
relief to shut out the Dukes and win
the game.
Game two for the Brewers wasn't
so successful as they went down to
Lakeside 5-0 on Saturday
afternoon.
Game three was Sunday
afternoon against Elmira. The
Brewers came away with a 8-5 win.
