Event has sights and sounds to entertain old and young
Recalling the past
Visitors to the Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion and Hobby. Show in Blyth were treated to
horse demonstrations, back after several years of absence.
Clowning around
It was all fun and games for Gimbel the clown as he
managed to tie up Jaleena Middel of Hullett Central
Public School during her visit to the Huron Pioneer
Thresher Reunion. Gimbel was on hand to make clown
creatures and entertain the children.
Fiddling a tune with friends
The Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion and Hobby Show is far more than steam engines and
crafts as music plays a huge role in the entertainment of daily visitors as well as weekend
campers. Musicians gathered throughout the three-day festival to hold impromptu jam
sessions.
Spit and shine
This exhibitor gets some young helping hands as he
cleans this miniature John Deere at the Huron Pioneer
Thresher Reunion held in Blyth this past weekend
Bygone era
A replica of an 1895 horseless carriage reminded spectators of early means of travel as
they watched the parade of antique vehicles and steam engines during the Thresher show.
This car and wagon are owned by Frank Speers of Elora.
Visiting the monsters
Students from Blyth and Hullett Central Public School took time out of the classroom Friday
morning to wander around the Blyth arena grounds, learning about the past. As well as
viewing antique equipment the children participated in challenging games.
rewing a taste sensation
Back for another year, Ray Scotchmer of the Friends of
Huron County Museum, stirred the pot to keep the beans
cooking as the delicious smell wafted over the reunion
grounds.
