Attendees get their kicks at annual Thresher Reunion Fiddlin' for fun Gordon Mooney of Owen Sound played the first tune he had ever entered it a fiddle competition at last weekend's Thresher Reunion. The musician has been playing fiddle for close to 70 years. (Mark Nonkes photo) High steep in' The Classic Tappers, a step-dancing troupe of women from the London-area, whose ages range from 64-79, delighted audiences with performances at this year's Huron's Pioneer Thresher Reunion in Blyth last weekend. With sparkling costumes, handmade by the women, and snappy choreography the Tappers strutted their stuff to tunes like 76 Trombones from the musical The Music Man and Georgy Girl, from the 1960's movie starring Lynn Redgrave. Renewing old acquaintances The Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion and Hobby Show in Blyth brings together friends separated by distance and time and allows them time to renew acquaintances and recall memories. Going for a roll As part of the Friday morning activities, students from -Blyth and Hullett Central Public School took part in games and contests at the reunion. A slice Special Events Chairman Wayne Lowe, with help from assistant John Lowe, keeps the log steady for young competitor John Storey at the annual Thresher Reunon.
