1998 HURON PIONEER THRESHER REUNION & HOBBY SHOW
From music to storage new shed will serve the purpose
MULTI-PURPOSE
With the construction of a new shed at the rear of the Thresher park, the club
will have more room for storage in the off-season and a covered facility where
jam sessions and dancing can take place throughout the three-day event.
INTEREST IN ALL SIZES
From the very big to the very small the Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion is a
look at the extraordinary.

The Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion
and Hobby Show is far more than just
steam engines, antique machines, flea
markets, crafts and good food.
A major component of the show is .the
abundance of music which can be taken in
throughout the entire three-day event, at
almost any hour of the day.
This year, for those who love jam
sessions, whether participating or
observing, the Thresher Reunion
membership has had a now covered shed
constructed at the rear of the arena
grounds.
In close proximity to the campgrounds,
Club President Gary Courtney says the 50'
by 104' shed will be used for music and
dancing, from about 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.,
Friday to Sunday. The rest of the year, it
will be used for storage. It is currently
housing grain for threshing
demonstrations.
Though the shed is an open-air pavilion
for this year, the club has plans to
construct 25' additions on either side with
the choice of uses unlimited.
Courtney says that aside from storage
there has been consideration given to
creating a museum of sorts where thresher
memorabilia could be displayed as well as
washroom and shower facilities.
Those facilities could be used
throughout the soccer season for
youngsters playing on the nearby field.
The rate of expansion of the shed will
depend on the level of success of the
Thresher Reunion and possibly
involvement by local community groups,
says Courtney.
