new regulations
the Ministry of Natural
Resources, Midhurst District,
reports that the federal government
has passed new regulations that
reduce the increased bag and
possession limits for Canada geese
for the early hunts in Wildlife
Management Units (WMUs) 81 -
84, shown in the Fall 1998 -
Spring 1999 Ontario Regulations
Summary.
The federal regulation sets the
daily bag limit at five and the
possession limit at 10 Canada geese
for the duration of the early hunt.
This new information updates
material on page 49 of the Ontario
Regulations summary.

Belgrave and District Kinsmen
Club purchased the old Queen's
Hotel in 1995, and decided to
develop a park on the hotel
property and adjacent lot. The lot
on the south side of the hotel
property was donated to the park.
A park steering committee of six
was set up to look into what was
suited for this park and how to raise
funds. Forms were mailed to local
residents asking for ideas and
support for the park. The
committee also visited several
parks for ideas.
A walkway of stones inscribed
with family names and businesses
really appealed to the committee
and this program was used to help
defray park costs.
Several landscapers were asked
to submit drawings and prices for a
park and the proposal from Huron
Landscaping Ltd. of Lucknow was

main corner of the hamlet, Saturday. The two-year project
is nearing completion yet donations are still sought to help
