The federal regulation sets the daily bag limit at five and the possession limit at 10 Canada geese for the duration of the early hunt. The lot on the south side of the hotel property was donated to the park. A park steering committee of six was set up to look into what was suited for this park and how to raise funds. Forms were mailed to local residents asking for ideas and support for the park. The committee also visited several parks for ideas. A walkway of stones inscribed with family names and businesses really appealed to the committee and this program was used to help defray park costs.
