A Grade 12 student at F. E. Madill, she was employed this summer as a painter and at McCall Livestock. Leisa, a member of the Brussels Figure Skating Club, enjoys swimming, biking, and outdoor activities. MATTHEW SHORTREED A Grade 13 student at Seaforth District High School, Matthew, 17, is the son of Bill and Valerie Shortreed of RR1, Walton. Sponsored by the Walton Women's Institute, Matthew was raised on a farm and enjoys hockey, broomball and fastball. CYNTHIA DEWIT Cynthia, 18, is sponsored by the Grey Twp. Fire Department. She is the daughter of Dick and Elizabeth Dewit of Ethel and will be heading to F.E. Madill Secondary School for her OAC year. Cynthia is involved in the Madill Chamber Choir, school yearbook, painting, 4 -H, church and volunteering. She plans to a pursue a career in graphic design. The collection for adults includes The Partner by John Grisham, her Own Rules by Barbara Taylor Bradford, Insomnia by Stephen King and Airframe by Micha Crichton. In the non-fiction section several interesting books amongst which This is Living by Lynn Redgravc and titles like Outwitting Critters, Baby Watching, and Crafts Together. For the children there is Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel, Books for Bears or The Brave Little Parrot. If the library does not have a book you would like to read, the librarian will gladly borrow it from another branch for you.
