Lambton College teachers and
staff have been excellent. I am
so thankful I had this opportu-
nity through the assistance of
Native Affairs and Ontario
Hydro to be a graduating
student of the Social Service
Worker program. I will
probably always be returning
for more education and
community work.
It makes living in the Sarnia-
Lambton area one of the best
communities for education and
training for a new career.

Here's what our
students say...
A school where I felt welcome,
mainly due to being a smaller
school. I looked at my previous
grade reports from another
college versus Lambton College
and I noticed that my grades
went up by approximately 2
grades. The instructors were
easy to approach. The school
itself was well maintained.Very
clean, bright and open.

Brussels team takes championship
It was a slugfest on Aug. 20
when Brussels Squirt Girls blew
into Walton and came out on top of
this heavy-hitting contest.
Walton had a strong start getting
five in the first to Brussels one.
Michelle Cook struck out two
Brussels batters, only to later load
the bases. Back catcher Sarah
McDonald's quick recovery on a
dropped third strike nabbed the
final out, and saved them another
run.
After scoring five, helped by a
homer from Cook, Walton ended
the inning in good shape, but a
seven-run second from their oppo-
nents let them know this would be
anyone's game. Not shaken, how-
ever, the home squad came back
and scored six of their own.
Crystal Gibbons got on board
with a walk. She was moved to sec-
ond off a Sarah McDonald single.
With some aggressive base running
the pair stole second and third
allowing Krista Shortreed to earn
an RBI.

The Hullett Midget girls advance
to the B finals after being outmus-
cled in playoff action by Listowel,
Aug. 19.
The hosts showed they meant
business early, scoring 16 in the
first two innings while allowing
Hullett just two.
The visitors came on a little
stronger in the third and fourth but
it was too little too late, as their
hosts sent them home defeated 21-

Pitching duties for Hullett were

single, which was followed by a
single from Mandy Mitchell and a
walk to Jen McClure. Melissa
Beuerman was able to stretch a sin-
gle into a triple on errors and
earned an RBI scoring Mitchell.
Ashley Steele singled in another
run before the inning ended.
Another maximum-run inning for
Brusses brought them within one in
the third. Walton had five come
home in the bottom half. Gibbons
was on board with her third walk,
then stole second and third, before
a McDonald single brought her
home. Cook slammed her second
homer of the game.
