IRENE RUTH HARMAN
Mrs. Irene Ruth (Warwick)
Harman of RR 5, Brussels passed
away at Wingham and District
Hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 12,
1998. She was in her 82nd year.
Born in Morris Township on July
15, 1917, Mrs. Harman was the
daughter of the late Robert and
Maria Warwick and the beloved
wife of the late William Harman.
Mrs. Harman will be sadly
missed by her daughters Mary
Lamb and her husband Clifford of
Mississauga and Joyce Harman of
RR 5, Brussels; her sister Edith
Warwick of RR 5, Brussels and her
grandchildren Juanita and Brad.
Mrs. Harman was predeceased by a
sister.
Friends were received Friday by
the family at the Schimanski
Family Funeral Home, Brussels
where the funeral service was
conducted on Saturday, Aug. 15,
1998 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Alan
Barr of Knox Presbyterian Church,
Bluevale, officiating.
Pallbearers were Tom Warwick,
Brian Warwick, Steve Harman, Ed
Stewart, Glen Sellers and Jeff
Cardiff. Flowerbearers were Larry
Harman and Larry Elston.
Interment was in Brussels
Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations were made to
Knox Presbyterian Church,
Bluevale or to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Ontario.
KORNELIUS "KASE"
VAN LOO
Kornelius "Kase" Van Loo of
RR 2, Wroxeter passed away at his
residence on Saturday, Aug. 8,
1998. He was in his 79th year.
Mr. Van Loo will be sadly
missed by his beloved wife Martha,
his children Teuni Smith and her
husband Fred of Brussels, Bill Van
Loo and his wife Linda of New
York, Jane Dunfoid and her
husband Dave of Oakville, Martha
Kratz and her husband John of
Samia, John Van Loo and his wife
Jeanette of Bluevale and Neil Van
Loo and his wife Liz of Wroxeter.
He will also be remembered by his
two sisters and brother in Holland,
his 16 grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren. Predeceased by his
son Everett and by a grcat-
grandson.
Friends were received Sunday
evening, Aug. 9 by the family at
the Schimanski Family Funeral
Home, Brussels where the private
funeral service was conducted on
Monday, Aug. 10, 1998 with Rev.
Vern Tozer officiating. A eulogy
paying tribute to his father's life
was given by Bill Van Loo.
Interment was in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Ethel.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations were made to
the charity of one's choice.
CINDY ELLEN MALONEY
Cindy Ellen Maloney, 24 of RR
1, Dublin, died suddenly, as the
result of a car accident, Friday,
Aug. 14, 1998 in Logan Township,
Perth County.
Born Oct. 30, 1973 in Seaforth,
she was the beloved daughter of
Leon and Mary (Klaver) Maloney.
She will be sadly missed by her
brother, Chris of London and friend
Angela Poppe; her sister Sherri and
husband, Brad Buchanan and their
sons Blake and Lane of Atwood;
her sister, Kim of Dublin, and
fiance, Tim Buchanan and by her
brother, Derek, at home, as well as
by a special friend, Robert
Shortreed, of Walton. She is also
survived by grandmother, Elizabeth
Klaver, and several aunts, uncles
and cousins. She will be fondly
remembered by her godchildren,
MacKenzie Reid and Blake
Buchanan.
She attended St. Columban
Elementary School and St. Michael
Secondary School in Stratford. She
obtained her Registered Nurses'
Diploma at Humber College,
Toronto. She was presently
employed at Versa Care Nursing
Home in Sebringville and The Ritz
Lutheran Villa Nursing Home in
Mitchell.
Family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, 87
Goderich Street West, Seaforth, on
Sunday from 7 - 9 p.m. and on
Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial was
held at St. Patrick's Roman
Catholic Church, Dublin, on
Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. Father
Antonio Del Ciancio officiated.
Interment was at St. Columban
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rob Shortreed,
Jim Shortreed, Matt McNichol,
Mike Campbeell, Greg Fritz and
Brent Whitmore. Soloist was Sheri
Buchanan. Readers were Leon
Maloney and Tracy Klaver.
Memorial donations to Canadian
Diabetes Association and Heart and
Stroke Foundation kindly accepted.
LEONA MAY MILLER
Leona May Miller of Wingham
passed away at Wingham and Dis-
trict Hospital on Monday, Aug. 10,
1998. She was 74.
The former Leona Osborne, she
was the beloved wife of the late
Police Chief James D. Miller who
predeceased her in 1974. She will
be missed by her son, George and
his wife, Donna, of Teeswater and
her daughter, Cathy Webber, and
her friend Wally Gmeterick of Bel-
grave. She was the grandmother of
Tiffany and Chris Thynne, Joshua
Miller and Melissa and Tyson
Webber and great grandmother of
MacKenzie Webber.
Also surviving are her bothers
Carl Osborne, Lawrence Osborne
and Cecil and his wife June
Osborne, all of Owen Sound. She
was predeceased by her brothers,
Bill and Fred Osborne, and by her
sister Ruby, in infancy.
Visitation and the funeral service
were held at the McBurney Funeral
Home, Wingham on Aug. 12 with
Rev. John P. Vaudry officiating.
Interment was in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, Sarawak Twp.
JACK MILLER
Jack Miller of Teeswater and for-
merly of Blyth passed away at his
residence on Thursday, July 30,
1998. He was 74.
Mr. Miller was born in Morris
Twp. near Brussels on July 16,
1924, the son of the late Thomas
Miller and Myrtle Wilson.
He is survived by one sister,
Mona Tunney of Teeswater and by
one brother, Dave Miller of Strat-
ford and seven nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two broth-
ers, Tom and Malcolm Miller and
one sister, Doris Miller.
Visitation was held at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home, MacPherson Chapel in
Teeswater on July 30. The funeral
service was held from the McPher-
son Chapel on July 31, 1998 at 2
p.m. with Rev. B. Morrison of
Tecswater United Church officiat-
ing. Interment was in Brussels
Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were
Ralph Fortney, Dave Thompson,
Jerry Collison and Thomas Miller.
DAVID LLOYD GEORGE
ANDERSON
David Lloyd George Anderson of
RR1, Londesboro passed away at
Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich,
Aug. 3, 1998. He was 75.
Mr. Anderson was born in Swift
Current, Saskatchewan, Feb. 16,
1923 to Robert Reid Anderson and
Rachel Etta Henderson and farmed
in Hullett Twp. for many years.
He was the dear husband of Mar-
garet Heffron, loving father of
Robert and Tilly Anderson and
family of RR1, Londesboro,
Glenyce Hutter and family of St.
Agatha and Helen and Rodger
McWatt and family of Toronto.
Mr. Anderson was predeceased
by his sister, Jean Harding and his
brother, Girvin Anderson.
At his request, there was no visi-
tation or funeral service. Cremation
has taken place. A private memori-
al service was held at Beattie-Fal-
coner Funeral Home, Clinton, Aug.
5.
Rev. Paul Ross of Londesboro
United Church will officiate.
Donations to Bluewater Rest
Home, Zurich, would be appreciat-
ed as expressions of sympathy.
OPP charge
Ethel woman
A 33-year-old Ethel woman will
appear in court next month on
charges following a break-in at the
Ethel Community Centre.
The break-in was reported at
10:30 a.m., Aug. 10. Police found a
basement window had been broken
with a rock. A suspect was men-
tioned and police questioned the
woman. They charged her with the
crime as well as a break in at the
Grey Twp. fire hall in Ethel. The
name of the suspect has not been
released.
Hullett council
passes manure
pit bylaw
Hullett council passes a bylaw at
the Aug. 4 meeting to allow bor-
rowing for the completion of work
on the Harding Municipal Drain.
The amount was $87,200.
A bylaw to regulate the location,
erection and use of manure pits in
the township was passed.
Accounts totalling $323,396
were approved for payment.
