Brussels Livestock report
Keddy Limousin steer sells for 98.50
The sales at Brussels Livestock
for the week ending Aug. 14 were:
fed cattle, 624; cows, 293; veal and
bob calves, 388; lambs and goats,
300; stockers, 761.
Fed steers and heifers were
selling on a steady trade. Cows
were selling on a strong demand.
On Thursday the veal traded
steady, with the lambs selling fully
steady. All classes of stockers were
steady.
There were 401 steers on offer
selling from $87 to $91 to the top
of $98.50. A limousin steer
consigned by Ken Leddy, Auburn,
weighing 1,265 lbs. sold for $98.50
with his total offering of five steers,
averaging 1,386 lbs. selling for an
overall price of $95.48. Twenty-
eight steers consigned by Kada
Farms, Bluevale, averaging 1,366
lbs. sold for an average price of
$93.21 with one gold steer
weighing 1,360 lbs. selling for $98.
A limousin steer consigned by
Travis O'Neil, Lucan, weighing
1,285 lbs. sold for $97 to Norwich
Packers.
Seven steers consigned by Jim
Howatt, Londesboro, averaging
1,330 lbs. sold for an overall
average of $91.72, with sales to
$96.75. Twenty-one steers

five participants will be accepted
on a first come, first served basis.
