PAGE 17. bituaries J CATHERINE "KATE" WILSON Mrs. Kate Wilson of Brussels passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, July 27, 1998. She was in her 84th year. Born in Henfryn, Ontario on April 25, 1915, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Alexander and Florence Russel and the beloved wife of the late David Eldon Wilson (October 1987). She will be sadly missed by her daughters Joan Merner and her husband Jack of Bayfield, Helen Fisher and her husband Jim of Goderich and Gale Schmidt and her husband Harry of Walkerton. Mrs. Wilson will also be remembered by her sisters, Margaret Baechler of Goderich and Hannah Weiss of Jensen Beach, Florida and by her 17 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. Besides her husband she was predeceased by three sons Frank, Garry, and Scott. Friends were received by the family on Wednesday at the Schimanski Funeral Home, Brussels where the funeral service was conducted on Thursday, July 30 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cathrine Campbell of Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels officiating. A eulogy, written by the grandchildren, paying tribute to the life of Kate was read by her brother-in-law William Weiss. Pallbearers were Marvin Merner, Dennis Merner, Jeffery Merner, Brent Fisher, Greg Schmidt, and Garry Wilson. Flowerbearers were Angela Johnson, Mandy Sullens, Jonathon Merner and Jill Eadie. Interment was in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Melville Presbyterian Church, Brussels. ROBERT JOHN SIERTSEMA Mr. Robert John Siertsema of Ottawa and formerly of Bayfield passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, July 26, 1998. He was the beloved son of John and Kathleen Siertsema of Bayfield and loving brother of Debbie Siertsema of Mississauga, Ian and Colleen Siertsema of Bayfield, and Duane Siertsema and his friend Patricia Carulli of Ottawa. He was also loved by his friend Julie Peden of Ottawa and by family friend Maria Cabral of Mississauga. He was the dear uncle of Taryn Siertsema of Bayfield. Robert is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends were received at the Bluewater Funeral Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive East, Goderich, on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 -9 p.m. A funeral service was held at St. Andrews United Church, Bayfield on Friday, July 31 at 2 p.m. Interment Bayfield Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to St. Andrews United Church or the charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated. CARL GEORG SEEGER Carl Georg Seeger of Goderich died peacefully at his home, after a battle with cancer on Friday, July 31, 1998. He was in his 72nd year. Sincere sympathy is extended from the community to Christine Cull and family in the sudden He was the beloved husband of Kathe (Baur) Seeger and dear father of Klaus and Rhea Seeger of RR 3, Auburn and Margrit and Ron Vegter of Lawrenceville, NJ. Mr. Seeger was the loving grandfather of Peter and Sarah, Jocelyn and Eric. He was the beloved brother of Hans (deceased) and Anni Seeger, Else and Willi Bross, Emil and Christa Seeger, Emma and Karl Freschie, Mathilde and Heinz Krauth, Werner and Hannelore Seeger, Annelore and Ernst Ehmann, all of Germany. Carl and family immigrated from Germany in 1957. He was a successful businessman in Scarborough for 19 years. Kay and Carl retired to West Wawanosh Twp. They renovated a farmhouse and continued with a farm business of rabbits,.geese, roosters and an orchard. Many will remember bringing their apples to be pressed into juice there. Carl served the community as township councillor from 1980 - 1982. Visitation was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Goderich, on Monday 7 - 9 p.m. where funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 4. Pastor Dale Hussey officiated. Cremation has taken place. Grey Twp. council held its regular meeting on July 27 and adopted its 1998 budget with projected expenditures of $1,348,588 which represents an increase in spending of $268,329 from its 1997 budget. The largest single increase in spending is $105,000 budgeted for Hullett resolves A drainage problem was quickly resolved by Hullett Twp. council at the July 21 session. The next euchre is Aug. 10. OPP services. It is anticipated that tax bills will be issued by the end of August with taxes being due as a single instalment on Sept. 30.
