Camera Club holds
inaugural meeting
By Anne Reilly
The Brussels #1 Camera Crew
held its first meeting at Julia
Mitchell's on July 16.
We elected the executive
members: Christina DeWit,
president, Doug Mitchell, vice-
president, Rachel Garland,
secretary, and Anne Reilly, press
reporter.
We opened with the 4-H pledge,
then we talked cameras. We looked
at different types of cameras, from
old to new. We took pictures of
these and then went outside and
took more pictures.
When we went back inside we
looked at some pictures that
Christina had taken, then closed the
meeting.
We held our second meeting at
Grey Central School on July 21.
We showed each other examples
of landscape pictures and talked
about camera lengec
We split into two groups, one
took pictures looking up onto
something and the other took
scenic pictures.
We walked back to the lawn and
talked about taking care of
cameras. We also talked about
going to a farm to take animal
shots.
Doug took a picture of the whole
group.

Youths get
messy at
The Ark
By Jessy and Sarah Longade
and Amy Bishop
This past week at The Ark it was
wet and messy.
Participants have been blowing
bubbles and making magic mud.
On Friday, they used Even Befurt
as the target for sponge toss
because it was his birthday. Next
week's theme is around the World.
JSRP is open all weekdays
except Thursday from 10 - 2 p.m.
Also on Friday, was a visit from
Jeffrey Mayne who very
generously donated $250 to The
Ark. He had saved some money
and decided this is where he
wanted to spend it. We are very
proud of his gracious gesture.
This week funding was received
from the United Way in the form of
a Venture Grant to run the summer
program.
