Jardins mark 60th
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jardin of
Blyth celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary at Knox United
Church, Auburn. This was their
former home. Ruth sang in the
United Church choir and her
mother and dad, Mr. and Mrs.
William Straughan were in the
community for many, many years.
Pictures of the family adorned
one wall, from Ruth and Tom's
childhood up to now. Of course
pictures of their children,
grandchildren and great-
grandchildren were also there.
Friends and relatives came all
afternoon to the celebration 'Come
and go Tea'. Letters were read and
speeches made — tea was served by
the Auburn UCW and everyone
wished the couple many more years
of happiness.

the year for Brussels and area.
Neil not only touched the lives of
those in the community, but also
those of his family and relatives.
I recall my mother, Hazel
Matheson, saying years ago,"Neil
is such a good boy", for the love
and care he gave his Mom. Neil
has"been there" for his own family
when they needed assurances, and
for his siblings in their times of
need, and for me, only a phone call
away.
He finds time to visit his Aunt
Jennie Turnbull and sometimes,
very seldom, takes some time for
himself. He is not only kin, but a
friend.
It is truly a deserved tribute.

2. In this the mighty wind swept
through a group of Jews and they
began to speak in native tongues as
it had been prophesied by Jbel. In
John 14, Jesus told the disciples
that the Father was in him. "Believe
in Him as He did what they might
ask."
Rev. Ross continued with a
sermon on 'Spirit Power'. When the
Holy Spirit of God comes to you
and you accept it, it remains with
you always. Call on Him and He
will hear.
A special prayerful hymn on the
Spirit of God was played by Rev.
Ross on the flute.
Kay and Ell Lapp spent Sunday,
May 31 in Mt. Elgin. A special
family celebration was held in
honour of Catherine and George
McCaffrey of the Woodstock area.
They have been holidaying a great
deal, so this was in honour of their
birthdays and anniversary.
There was an excellent
attendance of family and close
friends.
Bible Study was on June 2 at
Mrs. Audrey Thompson's home in
Londesboro. The study was an
outline of Proverbs. They are
written by Solomon. It will
continue this week.

energy for you
As you may recall, if you sign up for natural gas
you must pay a charge for the gas line installation
called "Market Contribution". Market Contribution
was approved by the Ontario Energy Board to help
us recover a portion of the costs of extending the
gas lines to4your community. This is necessary so
that our existing customers do not subsidize those
costs through their rates. It is a temporary charge
that is only in effect for the 60 months after the
completion of the project. Each month the out-
standing balance is reduced.
When the gas line was first installed to many
local communities, the Market Contribution
amount was $798.10. Since then, the amount has
been reduced, and as of June, 1998 the amount for
the following communities is:
If you are still heating with oil, electricity or
propane you're simply paying too high a price.

about Market Contribution
or to find out how much you
can save with natural gas.
