Josling tells Morris of changes to Act Grey defers Burgess St. project THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 1998. PAGE 21. Matters of county and township co-operation were on the table for the May 19 session of Morris Twp. council. Chief Building Official Paul Josling informed council that the county would be drawing an agree- ment to comply with the new Building Code Act with regards to septic system inspections. At present, the county will inspect the septic and issue the approval prior to Josling issuing the building permit. The township will enter into an agreement with the county for the parking enforcement on county roads. Decisions on amendments to the Wingham, Brussels and Blyth fire agreements was deferred until the county agreement is worked out. Council approved the drain poli- cy which would notify landowners when the estimate of Maintenance is $1,000 or over, at the discretion of the drainage superintendent. Council preferred no letters be sent if assessments were small. A Wingham fire reserve was set up, in the amount of $4,057.16, from excess monies returned by the board. Council agreed to purchase a small picture of the municipal building taken by a photo compa- ny. In a review of the general budget, councillors felt the same tax dollars as in 1997 should be continued. The resignation of Marie McIn- tosh, who cleaned the municipal office, was accepted with regrets. Reeve Bert Elliott told council of vandalism at the landfill site. It was suggested additional 'No Tres- passing' signs be installed and a new lock be placed on the bin. Grey Twp. council held its regular meeting on May 25 and reviewed revised estimates for the proposed improvement of Burgess and Victoria Streets as a joint project with the Village of Brussels. With the revised estimates being only marginally lower and with concerns being raised by a number of residents about both the cost and need for the improvements, council passed a bituaries r BILL DOBSON William McKee (Bill) Dobson passed away peacefully on May 28, 1998 at Listowel Memorial Hospi- tal after a courageous eight-month battle with cancer.
