School support
While waiting in the audience for their turn on stage, the
kindergarten students of Hullett Central Public School
showed their appreciation for the band's performance at
the spring concert last week. In addition to the band and
choir, kindergartens performed "Adventures in Space",
Grade 2's acted out "The Colour Factory" and Grades 6/7,
7/8 performed "The Art-ful Dodgers". Emceeing were the
Grade 6 students.

The April meeting of the
Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors
was held at the Hall on Wednesday,
April 29.
Brenda Young from Blyth spoke
and showed a video on drivers'
tests.
The next spring dance is on
Friday, May 22.
Minutes of the March meeting
were read. Reta gave the financial
report. She also reported on the
Spring Rally at Holmesville. The
October theme for the fall rally is
Sing, Say or Play.
The next card party is Friday,
May 8 at the hall.
Len Archambault spoke on the
United service
Greeter at Londcsboro United
Church on Sunday was Helen Dale.
Ushers were Yvonne and Pam
Hoggart. The guest speaker was the
Rev. Cheri Dinovo of the
Brucefield-Kippen charge.
The senior choir sang.
The sermon topic was on
converting and beating stress.
Sunday, May 17 is the 100th
anniversary of the present church
building.
Drive earns $583
June Fothergill acknowledges the
efforts of her helpers, Helen Dale
and Edythe Beacom, in collecting
for the cancer drive. A total of $583
was turned into the Cancer Society.
At 1:30 p.m. on April 28 the
Walkerbum Club met at Christine
Gross's home. The meeting opened
with prayer by Vera Penfound. The
minutes and treasurer's reports
were given. It was decided to give
$50 to Alzheimer's.
On May 25 the club will have a
plant and a miscellaneous sale.
Betsey Verwey will hopefully be
the auctioneer. She is recovering
from serious surgery and is in
members' thoughts and prayers.
Pat Hunking invited the club to
her home for the May meeting.
Betty Archambault will be lunch
convenor and Christine Gross is in
charge of the programme.
Members who went on the trip to
Mennonite country noted the
difference in farming methods.
They visited homes minus hydro
Rev. DiNova
speaks at
Knox United
Through pulpit exchange Rev.
Cheri DiNova of the Brucefield-
Kippen charge welcomed the Knox
congregation at 10 a.m. on May 3.
Jesus in Your Risen Power opened
the service followed by reading
from Psalm 23, "God Walks with —
Me Through Life".
Rev. Di Nova continued with
prayer. Come Thou Fount of Every
Blessing was sung.
The children were called to the
front and Rev. Di Nova spoke to
them about Saul's conversion
becoming, Paul the apostle. She
then had one of the youngsters
dress as Paul and brought another
child, a Christian, from the
congregation.
From Acts, Saul travelled. A
bright light shone on him and he

and saw numerous beautiful quilts.
They purchased the backing for the
quilt which is to be finished.
Several members had put the quilt
together and it is lovely.
The draw donated by Vera
Penfound was won by Audrey
Boonstoppel.
Betty Archambault gave two
readings "Ten Commandments of a
Farm Wife" and "The Best Things
of Life". Following this was a math
test. A contest on "Birds" was won
by Pat Honking. Betty closed with
"Very Amusing Sayings". After
lunch, as members left they
admired Christine Gross's beautiful
flower beds. Even trilliums and
dutchman's breeches from the bu'.i
grace them!
4-H members
talk food

The "Healthy Eating" 4-H Club's
last meeting on April 30, focused
on the topic of eating "Out on the
Town".
Following the completion of the
"Supermarket Savvy Quiz", each
member participated in preparing a
barbecue meal with a menu similar
to a fast food restaurant, including
burgers and fries and ice cream. "
The Achievement Program will
be May 14, at the Auburn Hall at
5 p.m. Each member will prepare
food for snacks for our family
members.
People
Bible Study Group met Auburn
United on April 27. It will meet on
May 5 at Londesboro United. Read
"Titus".
Mother's Day Tea and Bazaar
will be on Friday, May 8 from 1:30
to 3 p.m. at Huronview. There is a
bake sale also.
Canadian Tire money may still
be donated for supplies for Camp
Menesetung.
The Auburn WI will meet on
May 14.
Senior games in June. There will be
a day trip to Port Dover on June 25
and a picnic on June 24.
The Huronlea birthday party is
on June 9.
For May, KP is Harry, Reta and
Orville while cakes is June
Fothergill and Genevieve Allen.
Vote was taken to give $1,500 to
the Hall fund.
