WDH tackles recruitment
14 attend Mabel's Moms
There were eight tables of euchre
in play at the Women's Institute
Hall on Wednesday, April 29.
Winners were: high lady, Lois
Chamney; second high lady, Irene
Smyth; lone hands, Marie Merkley;
low lady, Edythe Coultes; high
man, Ross Taylor; second high
man, Lloyd Appleby; lone hands,
Stuart Chamney; low man, Richard
Moore.
There will be euchre again on
Wednesday, May 6 at 8 p.m.
Mabel's Moms met at their
regular time on Wednesday, April
29.
Those who attended were Donna
Raynard, Trevor, Heidi and Curtis;
Mary Jane Hobden and Stephen;
Karen Rundle and Holly; Kim
Higgins, Laura, Ashley and Jarrod;
Lila Procter and Jessica.
Their topic was "Children's

A committee has been formed
locally to spearhead fundraising in
an effort to entice physicians to
locate in Wingham.
Verna Steffler is chairman of the
Physician Recruitment Fundraislig
Project, which was formed
approximately one month ago.
Other committee members include
Noreen Gnay, former chairman of
the board of governors at Wingham
and District Hospital, Stuart Reavie
of Lucknow and Debbie Ritchie,
Wingham RN and member of the
Grey-Bruce-Huron-Perth District
Florence McArter welcomed al
to Knox United Church on Sunday,
May 3, the Fourth Sunday of
Easter.
Elizabeth Procter played prelude
organ music.
Rev. Mary Jane Hobden
welcomed the congregation
followed by the singing of In the
Garden and Guide Me 0 Thou
Great Jehovah for songtime.
The New Testament reading,
selected from Acts 9: 36 - 43, was
followed by the singing of Saviour,
Teach Me Day By Day and I See a
New Heaven.
The children's story reflected on
how God's love and care is like a
good shepherd cares for his sheep.
The gospel lesson was taken
from John 10: 22-30. The
congregation joined in singing The
Lord's My Shepherd.
The sermon was based on a
Christian disciple — a woman
named Dorcas, who dedicated her
life to caring for others. "As we

Centre.
