fire dept. bill
A single vehicle accident in
March has caused a dispute
between East Wawanosh council
and the Wingham and Area Fire
Board.
Council discussed the $500 bill at
the April 7 meeting, stating they
may not pay it.
The problem arose when both the
Wingham Fire Department and the
Blyth and District Fire Department
responded to the call.
The bill for $410 from Blyth has
already been paid.
Councillor Jim Campbell said
there should be a meeting with the
Wingham board to determine the
boundaries for the fire areas.
Councillor Fred Meier, who lives
on Conc. 6, near the accident site,
told council he called Wingham
ambulance, gave them his lot and
concession.
The ambulance service then
called the fire department.
Councilor Murray Scott said that
although Blyth is closer to Conc. 6,
Wingham Fire Chief Harley Gaunt
was in his right to respond.
A final decision on payment of
the bill was not reached.
until 1988.
They have four children, 14
grandchildren and four great-grand-
children.
Brussels Minor Soccer held a
coaches' clinic at Grey Central
School on Thursday, April 23.
More than 20 coaches attended.
The purpose of the clinic was to
explain the responsibilities of the
coach and how to improve their
team's performance. Doug
Shouldice of St. John Ambulance
explained the first aid problems
which a coach might have to
handle. He explained in detail how
each component of the first aid kit
should be used. Each coach is
supplied with a kit.
