Falls Reserve CA opens For many vacationers, the ideal summer includes camping, fishing, hiking and swimming. Set along the scenic Maitland River, in Benmiller and just minutes from Goderich, Falls Reserve Conserva- tion Area offers a combination of family camping in a beautiful natural setting. The conservation area opens on April 17. The park's 230 acres are nearly enclosed by the winding Maitland River. The wide shallow Maitland cascades over a series of low waterfalls as it flows past the park. A few minutes from the campsites, the forests of the park offer the kind of solitude that few places in Southern Ontario can match. These include fully serviced, underserviced and seasonal sites. The proximity of the park to Goderich shopping and restaurants, the Blyth Festival Theatre and the Benmiller Inn make it particularly attractive to those travelling from a distance," said Geoff King, superintendent of the park. For a reasonable fee the pavilion and other picnic areas can be reserved for gatherings. The large open spaces are ideal for volleyball, baseball, soccer or kicking a football.
