Wawanosh PS School to host auction By Emily Elston The East Wawanosh PS Fundraiser Auction will be held on April 24 starting at 7 p.m. in the school gym. The preview starts at 5:30 p.m. This auction is for a great cause, to raise enough money to buy new creative playground equipment. The Parent Advisory Council will be putting the whole auction together with Tony Chaffe as the auctioneer. Some of the great items that will be auctioned off will be a dinner for four with Paul Steckle at his residence, a sunset cruise off the shores of Goderich, an autographed hockey shirt from Canada's Cassie Campbell; charter salmon fishing and much, much more! There will also be three different types of auctions, regular, silent and a penny raffle. Hope to see you there. Registry promotes awareness Continued from page 9 better science to ensure healthy stocks of fish. And, better conservation law and enforcement are helping protect improvements to our fisheries," said OFAH Provincial Co-ordinator, Fish and Wildlife Services, Dr. Terry Qitinney. "The record fish registry helps promote awareness of our fisheries and the importance of protecting and enhancing this incredibly valuable natural resource," Quinney added. An entry into the record fish registry requires anglers to measure and photograph a potential record before taking it to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, or an office of the Ministry of Natural Resources for species verification. Potential record fish must also be frozen so that, following its acceptance as a new Ontario Record, fibreglass reproductions can be created by Advanced Taxidermy; the Registry's official taxidermist. One reproduction is displayed at the OFAH Conserva- tion Centre in Peterborough and a second is awarded to the record- setting angler along with a certificate recognizing the accom- plishment. The OFAH Ontario Record Fish Registry has been developed to recognize the largest fish angled legally from .Ontario waters.
