The Blyth Swinging Seniors met
in the Memorial Hall on March 25
for their potluck dinner with 18
members present.
After a delicious dinner,
President Lawrence Plaetzer called
the meeting to order. It opened with

Bill Craig had the only March
birthday and Vera and John
Hesselwood and Jean and
Lawrence Plaetzer had March
wedding anniversaries.
Secretary Ferne McDowell read
the minutes of the last meeting. The
treasurer's report was given by
Vera Hesselwood.

Recycling attended the March 17
session of Blyth council to update
them on the service.
Wendy Yamamoto-Chapman
said there would be one hazardous
waste day in the county this sum-
mer and the textile pickup program
would be held every 18 to 24
months instead of yearly.
Bluewater Recycling successful-
ly bid on the contract to operate the
Haldimand-Norfolk recycling site.

Chief Building Official Paul
Josling told council of a problem
with Drummond Street, in prepara-
tion for 9-1-1. The street comes to a
dead end and then begins again a
block east. He suggested council
consider renaming the eastern por-
tion of Drummond Street. A bylaw
was also recommended for the re-
numbering of the houses through-
out the village.
Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart
will look into the process required
to rename a street.

Councillor Doug Scrimgeour told
council that the North Huron
Review committee had passed a
resolution, indicating their support
for a two-tiered municipal system.

Bills and accounts totalling
$119,679.40, were approved for
payment.

Council agreed to claim GST
rebates on income tax free munici-
pal allowances up to one third of
council members' municipal remu-
neration, being for supplies which
are all or substantially all GST tax-
able and acquired in Canada for use
in municipal activities.

"Zone 8 Spring Rally" will be held
on April 21 in the Holmesville
Goderich Township Hall.
Registration is from 9:15 to 9:45
a.m. Fee is $4. The "Enterprising
Seniors" from Holmesville are the
Host Club.
Also a letter of read from the
Physicians Recruitment Committee
from Clinton, who would like
support in obtaining more doctors
for Clinton. A letter of support will
be sent from the club with names
attached as all felt this was a
worthy cause.

read from Huronlea and Huronview
to all the volunteers who have
helped out. There will be

land Valley Conservation Authority
will remain at last year's level of
$4.031.92.

Nesbitt's question about village
employees living outside the
municipality, Stewart said council
could not dictate where employees
