Don't use pesticides if you want
butterflies, she said. They need
water so in a protected area have a
birdbath, pond, etc.

and a branch inside.
Butterflies are protected here to

There was also a very interesting

were also resembling butterflies.

7:45 p.m.

Sunday, March 22 at 10:15 a.m.
A musical prelude with organist
Bernice Gross greeted members at
Knox United on Sunday, March 15
at 10 a.m.
Rev. Paul Ross welcomed the
congregation and gave the
announcements. Next Sunday
hymn sing will begin at 9:55 a.m.
Country Supper will be held at
the church on April 1. There will be
two sittings.
Camp registration forms are
available from Rev. Ross.
The invitation to worship was
given from Psalm 63 - "God is our
help and salvation and we are safe
in his hand."
The chorus We are One in the
Spirit was sung.
Rev, and Mrs. Ross gave the
service by dialogue and
extinguished the third candle for
the Easter season closing with
prayer.
The hymn Praise My Soul The
God of Heaven was sung. Rev.
Ross then offered prayer.
The children's chorus was sung
as they went to the front. Out of
Rev. Ross's mystery bag a package
of figs was found. It was not as
common to the children as to the
adults.
Rev. Ross told the story of the
three-year-old fig tree that had not
produced fruit. The owner said,
"Cut it down". But the gardener
said, "Let me give it extra work and
fertilizer and see how it produces
next year."
This was allowed and there were
figs on it the following year.
Rev. Ross explained how this can
happen in life today then closed
with repetitive prayer. The children
went to their classes.
The hymn Beneath the Cross of
Jesus was sung. Rev. Ross gave
scripture from Isaiah 55. Isaiah told
his people not to spend their money
on worthless things but on things of
value and to listen to God's word.
He continued with the lesson
from Luke 13. In Christ's time
Galileans were killed by Pilate.
Through the years people have died
by disasters too, though this is not
because they have not lived a good
life, he said.
The hymn 0 Jesus, I Have
Promised was sung.
Rev, Ross's sermon was on
"Refreshment Time". "We all have
memories of people and things that
have happened through the years,
happy and sad ones. There is often
a time for refreshing our thoughts.
When there is worry and doubt take
it to the Lord in prayer. Faith in
Him is the bulwark of life."
Rev. Ross closed with prayer of
thanks to God followed by The
Lord's Prayer.
Collection was received.
The hymn Guide Me, 0 Thou
Great Jehovah was sung.
