ing.

WMS meets
Continued from page 11
enjoyed with the assistance of St.
Andrew's members serving tea and
coffee.
The afternoon session began with
a lively sing-song conducted by
Shirley Aicheson with Eunice
Bissett at the piano.
Anna Mae Stevens of Mothewell
Avonbank, accompanied Bessie
Thompson and Helen Nethercott
for two lovely duets, Each Step I
Take and In The Garden.
Afternoon devotions were given
by Seaforth members, Margaret
Sharpe and Barbara Rivers. Verses
read from Romans with comment
on "Mission” meaning — reaching
out with a message in spirit of
humility. These devotions were
closed with prayer.
A memorial service was
presented by Exeter members and
roses were placed with a lighted
candle in honour of members now
deceased.
Shirley Aicheson introduced the
guest speaker Stuart Smale of St.
Marys. He gave a most interesting
account of mission projects he has
been involved with including the
goat project and problems
confronted in shipping them to
Nicaragua.
He spoke of wages there being
90 cents a day and no social
programs. He explained Habitat
Nicaragua and the building of
schools and homes, shipping of
sewing machines and school
supplies where education is costly.
Robina Alexander expressed
appreciation for his message and
presented him with a gift.
The roll call was answered by 65
members.
All secretaries' reports were read
and approved. Pat White presented
appreciation certificates to two
groups who have disbanded during
the year, Atwood Elma and
Shakespeare St. Andrews.
Appreciation words were given
by Jean Peebles and Jeanette Laing..
Erin Crisfield installed the
executive for the coming year. A
vote of appreciation was extended
to the retiring president for her
three years of leadership.
The next executive meeting was
announced for April 3 in Knox
Church, Stratford at 1:30 p.m.
Courtesy remarks were given by
Helen Dunseith.
0 Zion Haste was sung and the
meeting closed with prayer.
